Time for me to say , I was impressed with EC and underestimated them.. They had the best defensive pressure I have ever seen in a 3A or 4A or 5A classification.   Great coaching.   If you guys keep that up, you guys will be in Austin in a few weeks.  If your not, I will be surprised.

If you ever head down to Winnie, Al-T’s has some good crow, lol!! That might be the best defensive performance I’ve seen EC have in a decade. This also might be the best team in that long, too!

The biggest lead was 56.  There were no bench warmers and never any question about who maintained the momentum.  Coach Sutherland rotated 2-5 players in at a time.  I have gathered during District play the object is NOT to run up the score, but rather to keep every game competitive while giving every player the most significant play time as possible.  Playtime seems to be directed at honing individual skills and promoting greater communication as a team.  Subtle signals are constantly being passed between players and it is almost impossible to read.  After 32 games, many of their responses/moves/positions have become reflexes.  Hopefully, the Bucs will continue to improve their skill sets and learn from their mistakes.  While moving closer toward regional completion, the degree of difficulty will also increase revealing whether they have learned the lessons necessary to reach the highest levels of 3A competition.

In my opinion, #12 gave the strongest performance on behalf of Anahuac.

Agreed.  Coach is very good about playing everyone from the bench.  He doesn’t wait until the end of the 4th period.  The Goat has a way of working everyone into the game through out each period in a meaningful way.  He sends players into the game with a mission and makes his expectations clear.  This group of players work hard to fulfill every job given to them.  Their record demonstrates their willingness to hustle and sacrifice for the team.  They put forth tremendous effort and display unwavering determination to reach every goal.  All of the ingredients for success are in place.

They are just better and deeper imo.  Kountze has a good team.  EC has the ability to be great.  And of course it doesn’t hurt having the GOAT in the sideline.

They returned 6 players off of last years team, and had four players move in...but they’re not deep.
Have you seen them play any other team, than Bob Hope?

Several families have packed up and moved from HF, over the last several years. H-J, EC, PNG, and Nederland have all seen a few of them. Hard times in H-F school district is starting to feel the effects.

Correct.  All of these bother me and this is one where the UiL and more particularly the DEC shows itself to be as incompetent as the NCAA.  Chorizo is right - it was a genuine move that had been planned for awhile.  As mamba likes to say, let them play!
One thing I will say, however, is that Nederland is notorious for voting against any transfers.  On the other hand,  the BISD schools and Memorial tend to side with voting for the kids.  My understanding is the vote was unanimous in this case.  Given the facts of this case, along with some previous cases I am privy to, the cynic in me can’t help but wonder if there was some payback involved.
In any event, hate it for the kid.  HS is too short for kids to get caught up in grown ups BS.

I’m not gonna get into that on a public forum, but If it is about the kid that I think,it has nothing to do with playing varsity,it’s all about What’s wrong and what is right. When someone sales a home and buys a new home in a differant city for various reasons a kid shouldn’t be held accountable for a family decision..especially when it is beneficial to the well being of kid!!
