Are you serious?  It's not exactly easy either!  It's his ability to get the most out of the athletes, teach them the game, and have a better x's and o's mind than the guy on the other sideline.  The Fedora family has proven to do all of that.

For some it proves to be very hard..  Kenny Harrison and Toby Foreman say HI.  Look at Kirbyville before Jack Alvarez.  Did the athletes magically show up when he got the job?

Not a Beaumonter, but I don't see the problem with this, especially in the grand scheme of things.
 
Flanigan has a duty to prepare his team to be the best he can be.  To play the best and prepare them for a possible playoff run.  Playing Ozen and Central every year, just because you can claim a worthless Beaumont Bowl championship, doesn't do that.

I think that it's easy to spot a problem with smaller school school boards.  As an educator, you have to obtain a bachelor's degree and then pass a series of certification tests.  As an administrator, you have to do all that...and have a master's degree along with corresponding certification tests.  As a school board member...not only do you not have to meet any educational requirements whatsoever, you don't even really have to have a job.  Yeah they have to attend a training of some kind...however often.  But as long as you're there you've met the requirement.  They aren't tested over the content.
Teacher - Professional position with college degree and tested certification(s)
Principal/Athletic Director/Superintendent - Professional position with college degree(s) and tested certification(s)
School Board - may or may not have attended a college class.  Has to approve budget for entire campus.  Responsible for all hiring/firing decisions regardless of what is recommended.  
     Member 1-electricians helper
     Member 2-works for the city
     Member 3-unemployed
     Member 4-refinery
     Member 5-Farmer
     Member 6-unemployed
     Member 7-Barber
All 7 members probably were on the high school football team (and would've played college if the coach would've liked them), coach youth sports every single year in every single sport, and have kids in the school system.
Obviously..I know not every board is like this.  And I'm sure that are some school boards that do fantastic jobs.  But you know good and well that I just described a pretty good majority of small school school boards to an extent.

McGallion went to Silsbee from Navasota, I doubt he'd go back.

Kennedale also has a 300+lb defensive tackle who would probably be one of the tops in the state at his position if he was a couple of inches taller, he's pretty much unblockable on the 4A level and I believe he was the defensive MVP of their district. They also have a 6-3/6-4 defensive end who I would compare to little lighter version of A&M signee, Alton Robinson out of Converse Judson. I remember when I looked at Argyle's path that Kennedale also had another sophomore that also went about 300lbs on the defensive line.
They lost both of their backs who combined for over 4,200 rushing yards last year but I'm pretty sure they have a couple of other kids they can plug in to rush for 1,500-2,000 yards apiece in that offense they run. They just can't get past Argyle right now.   

Oh there's definitely more to the story..  Like a couple of board members have kids that weren't starters maybe?  I would not be surprised at all if this was the case.
I officially want Navasota to win the title this next year and then he give everyone a 2 handed salute  ..I..  ..I.. on his way out the door.  He won't have any issue at all finding a good job. 

It was more than les got ran off. Hate to see Harris go but glad he Dnt have to put up bs anymore. If any coach would ask him what he had go thru at Hf. All would stay away. Not everyone wanted him to go & other coach released on athletic duties. If that was case HF would not be divided on the situation. I've seen/heard players quit mid season cause of too much running( not applying to football but bball) throughout yrs. . No I didn't always agree with his play calls but he is the head coach. He couldn't come to our job & tell us how to do it so why should certain parents feel they have privilege to go to his job & tell him. Trust some have did jus that. The killer part bout this whole situation is its the seniors football boys hurting most right now. Instead of enjoying their senior yr ...they have to watch 2 of 3 that been there their hs career go thru this. And majority of them fully support the coaches. They should be focus on keep their GPA same or increasing and many are still tryn find right colleges that still have needs in position they play & try walk on. But with the main two coaches who handle matter no longer able to help. The chance is slim to none. ( this is my words & thoughts...not no one I'm kin to in athletics). To coach Harris thanks for all you did for HF. You have taught these guys so much especially sr core. Good luck to you
