BadSanta... I think it would not matter what any Carthage person posted; we are "that" team for you! You know everyone has a team they love to hate! Or similar to the way LSU fans hate Nick Saban. But it's okay... We will love you through it! That's just the kind of folks we are! ;)

I'm not a Carthage fan...but I know anything is possible.  Of course anything is possible.. Newton beat WOS last year.  Does that mean Newton couldve played in the state championship game in 4AD2?  Well I don't think that's what it means...but by your logic of comparing scores I guess it's possible.
I've been saying since I created my account that yes...setx has tremendous players.  It's obvious by the countless kids playing in FBS and FCS every single year.  I've also said...then why is setx not winning more against other areas of the state?  Well I have a good idea, but the concept seems to be an alien idea to setx fans.  People keep saying "we don't have to have what they have, or do what they do, and we still win".  Well....locally. 
I could honestly care less who wins this game.  I'm not from here.  I'm not from Carthage.  I have no ties to either place.. I live down here because of work.  I stay down here because of the fishing and the food.  Who will win?  I have no idea.  But, I honestly think Carthage will win...because the last decade or so East Texas just seems to keep doing so.  Some of you say cocky and arrogant... I just think it's attitude and expectation.  Some of you say recruiting..I say attracting.  No matter what you call it...it's winning.  I won't think otherwise until I'm proven wrong.  Here's your chance Silsbee.
And no it doesn't matter who won their district.  #3 and #4 seeds are winning 1st and 2nd round games all over the state in every sport.

I am confused with the conversations on here: practice, indoor facilities, giving jobs to recruit players, basketball, and baseball. What will we talk about next, soccer perhaps? We are 3 days away from a big football game and there is not very many valid points that prove why you think that Silsbee wins. You are too caught up on thinking that Carthage just feels like they are better and look down on Silsbee. U-Know was right when he stated "On Friday night, when you look across the field, you will see, stands full of your average hard working middle class families. People who work hard day in and day out to provide for their families." I am proud to be from Carthage and be a part of a good football run the last 6 years or so, Carthage people have not always had good teams to watch but have always been supportive. We all know that it's more fun to follow a winning team and tend to complain when things are not going our way. As I have said before, this will be a game played by 2 teams that have earned the right to be here  and have a chance of winning this game. I have no doubt that Silsbee will have some success and play hard, they are a very fast and aggressive team. I just have to support Carthage and believe that what progress they have made every week, they will come out on top on Friday night. Go Dawgs!

YES! 100% Y-E-S... YES!!! It is the norm in NorthEast Texas! Recruit players; give their parents great jobs! We call it.. "Keeping up with Jones'" Survival plain & simple! Look what you have all in about 60 mile radius... Carthage, Gilmer, Kilgore, Chapel Hill, Henderson, Tatum, Waskom, Tenaha, so on & so forth all State Champions in the past several years or so some multiple! Not to mention, Marshall & Longview. So we head across the state line & get kids from Shreveport & bus them over everyday! Sssshhh! Don't tell anyone! We recruit those Louisiana boys better than LSU!!! 
I did find humor in your question! No kind sir we do not recruit! Northeast Texas is very fortunate to be rich with talent and have numerous programs in all classifications with top notch programs! Thanks for inquiring!
