IMO, Jasper lost to Carthage by that much because.  1.  Turnovers.  2.  Turnovers.  3.  Turnovers.  You cannot give the ball away that many times and expect to win.  Or even keep the game close.  But actually, the margin was even worse than the score indicated.  As I remember, Jasper scored a late TD against the Carthage reserves.  If Carthage had kept the starters in to the end, I shudder to think what the score might have been.  Jasper played a much more disciplined game against Center.  At least I think so.  Center has the ingredients to go a long way in the playoffs.  Not every team is going to have the resources to stop your RB that Jasper had.  I wish Center the best of luck.

Both teams had three turnovers and two of the turnovers for carthage were the only time they didn't score with ones

I watched the Gilmer game too. Ik there  stats. Even against Gilmer the QB had a few bad throws. And thats one of the telling stats that make them gud.they have been producing a bunch of T/O. If gilmer would have kept throwing underneath it was there across the middle. Carthage DBs was in a bail technique covering deep . So there DBs was there every play. But at the same time the combats were there. U will see against a team that mixes it up. Will have a shot. And Gilmer was getting yards running the ball. But they kept trying to score quick for what ever reason and it hurt them.and let's not forget it was 28-14. And gilmer got the T/o and had all the momentum and sqardered and opportunities to get closer and didn't.

Gilmer had 24 yds total rushing for the game dont know what u saw also they scored 7 then got the onside kick and scored 7 more and then tried another  onside but got shut down after that

I agree with dj.The level of competition in some cases will raise it's ugly head if that team is really not that good. You hear it every year someone saying a team has not played anyone .For good teams though it means absolutely nothing.Wos went to state 4 times playing basically the same teams they playing now.Not say WOS is better than Carthage...just saying they both are pretty good.

They may be true but in those 4 years they didn't once come across a team as good as carthage

New Caney/Crosby fans- I heard the Carthage game in week one would be part of a East Texas- Houston area double header played at Randall Reed Stadium.

    Games: Carthage vs Crosby

                   Marshall vs New Caney

    Can you confirm the rumor?

Looks to be true r at least Carthage playing Crosby there anyway

Here's the thing about the nrg situation: the Houston area school crowds showed up including wos, i know, i was there. The dfw schools and average football fans did not show up.

And that's the problem North Texas average fan is gonna show up if at at&t the same can not be said for folks in the south if at nrg

There wasnt a single DFW team in either 6A game that year those folks stayed home.

But u had two Houston teams in it so sounds to me like Houston didnt show up. Here is my thoughts on it out of both areas people with no ties to any team more locals show up in Dallas then Houston

That's because Dallas area fans didnt travel to NRG known fact

Pretty sure it's more about the local folks not showing up rather then fans traveling, more dfw area football fans show up at at&t then Houston area fans show up at nrg
