LaPorte hasn't had a winning season since 2016. I agree that they are better than any team the Baytown area has to offer but I don't think (even with a drop in classification) that they will make a top 4 seed. Their wins over the few years have come from weak opponents... teams I believe would do poorly in the 5A classification. I don't expect much from Sterling, GCM or Lee but LaPorte was a very good football team that I'd like to see return to the competitive level they once were.

Neither of the Baytown schools nor is LaPorte any good in football. If this realignment were to happen it would be New Caney schools and GT schools making the playoffs every year.

Thanks for the feedback, I searched the UIL rulebook and didn't see anything that supported their statement. But after talking with them recently they informed me it was GCCISD policy... no wonder their athletics programs don't do well.

I was told that it's UIL rules that coaches have to play every kid on the basketball team in every game? Is there any truth to this?

This district is too up and down to call it. Barbers Hill has played with the most consistently but they still have PNG, Crosby and Ned to play... week 10 should tell all tales.

Even with the 3 ints and a fumble recovery for a TD by Crosby they only won by 6. I'll take the win but the Coogs offense has to find some consistency if they plan on turning this season around.

Doesn't seem like the newly eligible QB for the Cougars is helping turn the offense around much.

I agree. Crosby had a dropped touchdown on the 1st play of the game. Hit the receiver in the hands and he dropped it. Another one two plays later. I've never seen a Crosby team that didn't have at least one sure handed WR. Even with the starting QB playing I'm unsure how that corrects the lack of catching issue. Long season for the Cougars!

So far Dayton had a Fum and a INT in the controlled portion of the scrimmage that would have been TDs.

If the Cougars drop the ball and lose one in district it won't be to the Ponies. Even with starters possibly being out due to injuries the Cougars still have more than enough reserves to beat Dayton. I'll take #CodeRed by 14+ in this one.

Crosby defense has had problems this year with stopping the run but once the DC figured out the opponents offense they took control of the game. I think he figures Vidor out early simply because they run the same formation, same plays repeatedly. Crosby wins this one rain or shine by at least 17+ if Rio doesn't call the dogs off .

They were definitely on their level, the better performing team just happened to win that night. Ridge Point was an opponent that should have been 6A (switched classes the following season) at the time. The PNG game came down to a last possession outcome. Elgin probably was the only team better then them the year they played.

Elgin, Ridge Point, Cedar Park, FB Marshall and PNG... all either went to Regional Finals or farther the year they beat Crosby in a playoff game. So I'm not sure what your opinion of "good" is.
