(5) turnovers killed the guys there in orange .take the first one away wo-s WINS good luck coldsprings
I guess if they turned the ball over 5 times then they weren't a very good football team then, huh? -
PNG
63 - 0
Nederland doesn't have a chance!!!

Hey Skipper. What do you think? Time to replace the OC?
-
Looks like everyone's going to the playoffs!!!
-
I think the Bulldogs played excellent considering 7 freakin turnovers and losing their QB. An INT for a TD (be sure and clip Bellow in the process) and another INT in close range, blown coverage on a long pass.
And other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?
-
From what I hear, all the athletes transfer to WOS (open enrollment). ;D
Sorta like mid-county where all the real athletes are called Bulldogs?

BC, OF Missing Key Players
After moving from DeQuincy, Kaleb Kellogg had a solid baseball season and was expected to contribute on the football team. But the rumors of him returning to DQ are true because he hasn't come out for practice.
OF's Jace Statum was the starting QB last season but is passing on football after verbally committing to A&M to play baseball.
Heard about the Kellogg kid a couple of days ago. I am curious as to why he went back? Also, I wonder if he thinks he can comeback and enroll at BC later in the year to play baseball? That will not happen, trust me.
As for Jace, I thought this was old news. I thought I had read over at the Orangefield site that he had said he wouldn't play football after last season. Maybe I am confused with the Felts kid who didn't play football last year.
If you knew why he came to BC in the first place then you would probably understand why he went back.

Richland is D3 Juco, so no athletic scholarships. But if you have to go to a D3 Juco, this is the one to go to. Actually won the D3 Juco world series this year. School is cheap as dirt but you have to stay in an apartment because the school does not have dorms.
Galveston just went through a coaching change, but they finished in the middle of the pack in Region 14 South. A good place to play, plus it's college at the beach.
Again AJ25 nails it on the head...this kid is in the know. D3 go to Richland. I do know that Galveston has a requirement that the HC must have a Master's degree....which impressed me. "College at the beach ", got to be worth something.
Only if its in Florida....

The new PNG field is cursed !
You hope.
Maybe it is.
Heard that just before the turf got laid a couple of Nederland jerseys got put in the ground in some "key" spots.
And I'm sure you hear a lot of things. That doesn't make them true. And frankly, that story is very unlikely.
I do. And you hope!

PNG outscored it's opponents 69-4 in a very weak sectional tournament. They won by scores of 30-2,22-1, and 17-1. They are a very good All-Star team and will be playing in Pasadena in 2 weeks. They will probally win that tournament and then the real test comes the following week where they will have to go through Kyle Chapman if they are to get to California for the 13 year old World Series.
They will probably win that tournament......
Shoot, just cancel the tournament and move on!!!
I hope you aren't the coach of the team because if you are you are really setting yourself up for a downfall.
Never, ever, ever underestimate your opponent and assume that you've already won.
It also isn't doing the kids on the team any favors either.
-
Good Luck to all!
No way am I knocking any of the kids from Nederland, but looks to me their entire team (including kids moved up for the playoffs) made the All-Star roster. Did any of the other schools bring their entire team?
You're not the only one who noticed!

How about posting the film on here?
i never said i had a tape of the game ..this poster made a general comment i think about posting a tape of the game..yes i was at the game and i think our player deserved it and probably the palyer from spring hill might have deserved it....but from where i was i couldnt hear what was being said ...it looked like they both were mouthing alot......but i honestly think they would have still scored eight runs in the third no matter what.....they would have gotten the same hits wether robertson was in the game or not...and dont think him getting thrown out stopped us from getting any runs in the first three innings....and as far as us not winning the first game ..we did get three guys thrown out at home plus we missed a suicide squeeze and we made some errors that gave them some un-earned runs.....i know the three outs at the plate was just being aggressive which was fine ..but we had our chances to win the game .....this is just my opinion and this is a discussion board and i am just giving my opinion.....bottom line is the team had a great year and it just wasnt meant for them to go any further....hopefull they will be in the same situation again next year
jacf,
My comments were not directed towards you but more towards the person who told you to "Go away" and, in general, to those who claim that the tapes would reveal all. I did notice that you were asking for the tapes to be posted. If anyone has a tape of this, feel free to do so.
I agree with you that maybe it wasn't meant for the Cards to move on (for the record I was hoping that they would win). If BC had three runners thrown out at home, maybe that means that SH had some good arms in the outfield (or from whatever position they were thrown out from). Miss a bunt and make some errors; well, you can't do that and expect to win. At this point in the playoffs you need to be perfect.
-
yeah post the tape on hear maybe the score will change and bridge city will win.....and the bridge city fans will let it go.....if it was as bad as people say then i am sure that the bridge city coach would ask for someone to review the film if there was a film....just to see if something should be said to the umps ...NOT THAT IT WOULD CHANGE THE OUTCOME.....get over it....once again if you want to blame somoene blame robertson....he started the whole incident by is imature undiscipline action
Go Away
Nice response dude.
Do you have the tapes? If you don't, say so. If so, post them. It's a reasonable request.
Put up or Shut up!!!

15 guys under 4.6 forties??? I have to call BS on that one---show us the clock and what do you mean by getting a D-1 letter?Lcm Is The sleeper in my eyes... I seen the potential there. They have at least 15 guys running under 4'6 forties... They just got the secondary coach from "WOS" ("deon beasley""earl "the pearl" thomas") both are big assets to the Texas Longhorns... Now With a little coaching and discipline i dont see at least one player next year getting a good division 1 letter... They Also got the returning backfield and some new recievers. Many of them didnt play last year because of coaching, injured, or other reasons. So i say watch out for this team come fall... GO BEARS
He wrote 4'6, not 4.6.
Those are some short football players.

There are 4. Ron(coach), Don(engineneer), Chris(coach) and Craig(coach). Dad Ron was a coach as well.
Don must be the black sheep of the family or a real disappointment!!! Couldn't cut it as a coach so had to settle on being a dang engineer. Bet he's some sissy chemical or petroleum engineer too!!!! :)

Who are the coaches of these teams?

Here is the problem. If we make it a feel good league, where everyone gets equal play time, the more competitive parents leave the league. All we have left is the parents who want $90 babysitters. The league suffers without the more competitve parents, who do all the work. Attendance goes down and we are left with a struggling mess. You probably don't remember, but select ball almost destroyed little league a few years ago. It has just now come back to retain the parents who have an interest in the league.
Some parents don't undersand this, but, without the competitive kids(and their parents) little league will no longer exist.
I completely agree.
As a coach, it's tough to balance the needs and desires of the less talented players with those of the more capable and competitive ones. If you try to please everybody you wind up pleasing no one. The best you can do is do what you feel is right and stick to it.

You only eat crow if you talk smack. Other than 1 or 2 we from Nederland did not talk smack or make stupid predictions of victory, we knew this was a tough game and we were the underdog. The only ones talking trash this past week were Dayton and Lumberton... You walked to talk and that is good and fortunate for you!!! But we did not talk trash, I KNOW I did not, so I will not be eating any crow thank you very much. You can give mine to the trash talkers from PNG.

No Rice Bowl.... HF vs. EC

For some reason this topic had me reviewing HF's all time series with EC. And how I didn't notice this before is beyond me, but I was a little surprised when I saw that the first time EC and HF did not play since the existence of HF was in 1992. HF was formed in 1961, combining the towns of Hamshire, Fannett, LaBelle and part of Cheek. Before the merger, both Hamshire and Fannett were independent and each played 6Man football. I have very little records for either team before the merger, so I don't know if either team played EC prior to 1961. Regardless, the topic is EC versus HF so prior records wouldn't matter anyway. This topic was started by Alice who was bashing HF for not playing EC this year, and accusing HF of killing an old rivalry. But as the records will prove, the streak was broke in 1992 and continued until 2000. This break was because of EC not being capable of fielding a competitive team (HF won 42-14 in 1989, 63-6 in 1990 and 70-0 in 1991, and all three of these scores are a lot closer than they could have been). I don't know which side chose to end the series. Frankly, it was a smart move for both sides. The competition was so out of hand that it was detrimental for both sides to continue. But I think most people will agree, it had to be George W. Bush's fault for the series' demise. Hopefully we will get the series back on track two years from now.

Don't worry, Obama will make it all better!!! If not, give Oprah a call.
