2.
a certain 5A team will change that this year  ;)
Da Brook!!!!!
 3. Like the game against ASU, tu still getting the breaks on the umpire's calls/no-calls.  Runner was out at 2nd when stealing, called safe.  Gators only get a double on a home run. Jacob Felts did good getting a single up the middle and then scoring from 1st on a double.  Looks like that was his second run of the game.

Congrats Raiders...
After only two weeks of play how do you expect someone to "break away"?  Of course there are two teams that are 2-0 but at best they are 2 games ahead of only 2 other teams that are 0-2.
easy to see why you have half as many negative K as you have posts
Thanks.  It's what I live for.  Feel free to add a few more if you would like.  ;D Actually most of them came when I posted something during football season that the good people of a certain area didn't like and took exception to....it must have struck a nerve.  Oh well, sometimes the truth hurts. But seriously, how do you "break away" from the pack after only two weeks?  Two teams are trying.  But I am willing to bet if it is repeated in about about 3 weeks it will be correct.

BTW, I am a die hard LC-M baseball fan!
still early in district there Bear fan. Congrats beating that jaugernaut Ozen team. PNG got beat by two quality teams so far. We'll see what happens. There is any 4 to five teams that could win district this year. I haven't seen any posts where PNG fans were boasting ??? Maybe they picked the NDNS to come in first, but not boasting.
Well, if you can't beat the weaker team, its not likely you'll beat the stronger teams.
 7.
Long way to go. I wouldn't write off either team yet.
Right now I wouldn't write off ANY time.  (well, maybe one, but I'll be nice).
 8.
Bit of a stretch. PNG and Ned will both be fine and will represent 20-4A in the playoffs. Whoever starts 0-2 has just as good of a chance to run the table to finish the season.  This probably just means the District Champ will have at least 1 loss.
Hmmm..... The good people in Livingston, Vidor, Ozen, LCM and Lumberton may take exception to that statement.  As of now they are all undefeated.
 9.
Final 4-3 Livingston wins!
:o

 13.
Well, we can play spoiler. Coach Abel can open the gym doors for basketball season. Too tough of schedule coming up for the NDNS.
WHAT??? Giving up already??? :o
6/30/2010 2:42:43 PM Three Texas Sun Devils pitchers combined for a 1-hitter in a 3-1 win over the Freshwater Storm.  The Storm's only hit was a leadoff single in the top of the first inning and only one runner reached base after than, on a throwing error. LHP Chaz Hebert (2011, Breaux Bridge, LA) pitched the first 3 innings for the Sun Devils, striking out 5 hitters.  The 6-2, 180 southpaw was consistently in the 87-89 mph area with his fastball.  He was relieved by 2010 Oregon State signee RHP Dan Child, who threw a quick 2 innings with his 89-92 mph sinker and sharp 82 mph slider.  The Sun Devils then  brought in 2011 SS Jace Conrad to close and Conrad retired 6 consecutive hitters with an 87 mph fastball and 74 mph curveball. Texas managed only 3 hites of LHP Cameron Tewksbury of the Storm but that was enough to pick up a second pool play victory.       WP: Danier Child 2IP, 1H, 1ER, 1K LP: Cameron Tewksbury 5IP, 3H, 3ER, 6K SV: Jace Conrad 2IP, 0H, 2K Trevin Sonnier(Ned)  1-3, R, SB Price Jacobs(GCM)   1-2, 3B, R
Who got the third hit then for the Sun Devils?  Don't stop at naming just two of them.

At this point, human error is part of this great game.
Gabe, it is no longer the "great game" it once was. It is slow paced, it dry it is boring, it needs an advertising bump, and many of the best athletes are no longer attracted to the game. When I was a kid, lived for MLB. Today, I couldn't tell you the last game I watched on TV. When I was a kid ( and even in my 30s) I loved to go to Houston to eat and then go to the Dome and watch the Astros. I went one time to Minute Maid about 3 years ago for the first time, was miserable, really couldn't see, the seat killed my back and the entire experience was well, boring. When I was a kid, I knew the starting Astros line-up by heart. Today, I think Berkman is still on the team. I still go to high school football games and find them exciting. I still watch the NFL on Sunday and really miss it this time of year. Heck, I went and saw a CFL game this past Summer when I was in Ontario an found it amazing.... I'm sorry, MLB just doesn't cut it anymore.
Your problem isn't with baseball it's the team that you choose to follow.  Everything about houston lastros baseball is bad!!!  The park looks like a warehouse, the uniforms are terrible (bring back the rainbow uniforms), you don't know the players because there are no stars on the team to keep you interested, and the farm system was emptied to go to one world series and get swept.  Don't hate the beautiful game of baseball because the lastros are bad.  Find a team that is worth watching and feel that childhood love of the game come back. Oh, and just to stay on topic, MLB can't overturn the call.  It's just part of the game.  Close plays at the plate are not overturned and those plays could actually impact the outcome of a game.  There's no way MLB can overturn the call for historical purposes that have no influence on the outcome of the game.
It's the game. It has lost me. There is no thrill. Even when Houston went to the WS I only barely had passing interest. Look I loved the Astros in the 60s and 70s and they really were awful in those 2 decades. When I live in the Dallas area in the 1980s, I would go and see the Rangers, just to watch Charlie Hough pitch. Texas was no barn beater during that time. In Spring 1986, I drove out of my way and saw an Arizona Spring Training game between the Giants and A's. Willie Mayes was coaching first base during the game and turned around and picked and teased with the crowd. ( It was a SS game and Willie was coaching first.) Yes, Jose Canseco was in the game and he and Dave Kingman put on the most amazing battling practices I have ever seen.( I take that back, I saw George Brett put on one better when I was in Dallas.) It ain't the same men, it ain't the same game. The thrill is gone. It is boring. If I were to switch teams, the question would be who? The Yankees? The Red Sox? I am about to do that about like I am going to vote for a Kennedy or give up Tony Chachere's.
If it has lost you, then why are you reading and posting on a baseball thread???
 19.
Looks like 19-4A may not have been that down this year, they are beating up on 20 4A, and MAN, Coach Stalbuam had a team mostly of sophomores and Jrs. and were in the hunt for the play-offs in this district.  I know that BH had a ton of talent back in the day, but they still have a ton of talent and it isn’t 3A anymore.  Last year BH had mostly a senior team in a young district, this year BH was young and most teams returned everyone from last year.  Coach did a great job, and supported these kids and showed confidence in this young team.  10 year streak was broken, but it was a 10 year streak, give the man some credit, he has earned it.   Sad that this man does not get any credit.  I hope when Coach Stabuam decides to leave that other coaches that may be interested in this job do not read this forum, and see what some of our fans are like. Good Job This Year Coach Stalbuam,   You did a great job with this young team and know you will have them ready for next year and BH will start another 10 year run.
3 wins out of 9 games isn't what I would call "beating up"

 22.
I always love when the blame is placed on "higher ups"...usually meaning the league president or league officers.  You want to know what those "higher ups" do?  They VOLUNTEER their time, usually a lot of it.  They try to find sponsors, and they have probably about 10 parents out of about 200 that will help them.  the other 190 sit there and complain about "higher ups".  I was president of a Little League in this area for 3 years, followed by the hardest working woman I ever knew, and she did it for 3 years as well.  Hurricane Rita did a job on our field, and she still ran the league following the storm, with no electricity, daytime games, and cooking stuff on a grill and drinks in an ice chest for the concession stand.  When it came time for others to show how much they cared about the league and helping out their kids, we had...you guessed it!...10 parents consistently and about 190 running their mouths about "higher ups", and not doing a d*** thing to help out the league. My guess is that the person that was willing to take the reins in Port Neches Pony saw the "enthusiasm" (note sarcasm) of the majority of parents, and knew he wasn't going to have the time to field complaints about Little Johnny's coach, the color of the uniforms, and why they had to sell candy, if the had "paid their money".  They also wanted to know why they had to work the concession stand, and why they couldn't just sit in the stands and run their mouths at the coaches and umpires... There...I hope that soap box is good and crushed... ;D
AMEN TO THAT!!!  Funny how those that do the least complain the most!
