I think some people are hyping kids up on this HD team. The coach made 4 kids sit out to make sure they are ok for district play? Come on now, you play to win. Maybe he held them out to prevent them from getting hurt, wow! With all these STUDS.... HD still barely beat West Hardin. From my understanding, West Hardin is not a powerhouse football team.

The 4 kids that were out were hurt. 2 concussion,1 broke wrist, and the Price kid had a leg injury had they been healthy I am sure they would have been on the field as HD is a small school and not very deep in any position. Not saying they would have won but it may have been a little better game.

  2. That is a great offer MossHill thanks!!!!!!Unfortunately not many will take the offer....There has been some good comments on this subject and all have been valid but we are all just fans doing what fans do..H-D is not what it once was no matter how much we wish otherwise and probably never will be again..There is not many great coaches beating  the door down anymore it is the sad truth. You have to give a coach time to build a program is true but when do you say his ideas are not working if you do not show results in any job you usually don't have one. No I am not a coach and would  not make a good one. To many people to please and to many that you can not please no matter what. I think we may make the playoffs this year in one of the bottom slots and hope that we go further as I do every year.I will be at the games cheering on my Bobcats either way.I know that Bobcat55 is a true fan and wants whats best for these kids same as every other fan wants for their team.I guess what I am trying to say is we all have our opinions (the one about Sabine Pass was just a little much but it was an opinion) and we as fans are not always gonna agree on whats best for a program and that is what makes the USA a great place !!!!!!!Texas High School Football is the greatest and if you have had the chance to experience it even if you lost every game you will still remember it with fondness...

  3. I make comments on every single thread on this site where I feel the presence of delusion, false information, or when there is an implication/comment made about a coach that is anything other than positive.

You think I only "troll" HD threads, but you HD fans are the only ones that get your feelings hurt about everything I post.  Therefore I keep coming back because you guys are the most fun to mess with.

Has produced results against whom?..  West Hardin.  And maybe Sabine Pass.  It was the plays they chose to run...it was the competition.  I will bet every dollar I've got and ever made...When you guys play Lovelady, it won't matter what O the HD coaches choose to run.  You could play them 10 times and run a different offense every time...same result.  Lovelady is just an example.

Hurt our feelings never we think your funny old school (a little grumpy maybe)but still funny....Yes we are fans and yes when you talk about our team we get a little grumpy that's what true fans do win or lose we stand by our team...It's no difference than any die hard fan from any sport of any level all teams have some so keep posting and we will keep talking back and forth because after all is said and done it's just a game. Hopefully these kids will learn a few of life's lessons from playing it and become true fans of a team one day.

  4. I 'm pretty sure i started with it would depend on what their choice was. Then I gave an Opinion on how i feel each of those choices, in my opinion would lead to the games final outcome. I could really care less what an HD or any other School coach decides to do as far as a game plan from reading this site. If that's what's happening now a days then HS football is in trouble. I'm always a little confused by your comments or ramblings on this site. This is a discussion board open to the public,to discuss their thoughts. So from your own statement you would rather sit on the porch and watch the grass grow then to attend and HD game. If you were at the games you would have a clear understanding of this years HD team. In this same thread you based your prediction on who beat who and AS not being as bad as HD. I based my prediction on what O the HD coaches choose to run. From actually being at the games and seeing the kids. One style has produced no results. That is a fact plain and simple regardless of it offends the Coaching staff. The other style has shown some positive results. Again not my, but their choice tonight. Whichever choice they make, i stand by prediction for each.

Now Gator you know Old School was once shunned in someway by good old H-D  for someone that would rather watch grass grow he sure trolls any threads we make......

  5. I think that if the coaches come on here and read suggestions on what they should do with their football program..they may do the opposite just for spite.  Or...I hope they do anyway.

Everyone I know that is or has coached have spent a lot of time preparing for games.  Right or wrong..they were the ones hired to make an effort to win ball games, and they probably don't need/want any help from spectators.  Not to mention they are juggling things that most people have no clue about.  Like what happened in practice that particular week, or in class, or if a certain kid got in trouble of any kind.  You do realize that the things I just mentioned play into a coach's practice plan / game plan each week.  Especially at small schools like this one.

Even if the spectator has coached peewee for 16 years and never misses an NFL game on tv...I'm sure the coaches want nothing to do with whatever "advice" is given.

To tell the truth I hope no coaches are  looking on here for coaching tips.....lol your just to funny Old School

  6. This is where kids learn how to be grown men.

And I agree.  This generation is about as useful as a football bat.  Laziness and empathy are officially running rampant.

And I never said you earned respect by playing time.  There is a difference between just being on the team and working your butt off everyday.  If a kids shows up everyday and gives their all then yes, they've earned my respect.  But there is a huge difference between doing that and just being a part of the team.  Because small schools won't get rid of people for lack of numbers.  So if a kid busts his/her butt every day and don't get to play then they've learned a valuable lesson.  Sometimes it takes more than effort.

And yes..I'm as hard headed as they come.

Thats what I was saying If you bust your hump whether your good or not some just have no talent but give it everything they have. I don't like lazy people. Everything I have in this world I worked for as i'm sure you have also.

  7. False.  Respect is earned..not entitled.

I guess you would also think that just because a kid shows up everyday they deserve playing time.  Or everyone that works somewhere deserves the same pay/benefits.  I am an ex collegiate athlete (4 years) and I can tell you that just because you play and show up everyday doesn't really mean anything in the realm of things.

And he probably UP's reasoning for the remark is because neither team is any good.  At all.  Because on that level if you had kids that bench 225 or ran sub 5.0 40's then they would be beating people.  And they're not.

I think if you are out there trying your best you earn respect never said it was entitled whether you are good or bad... I have always been a believer that you play your best 11 whether it's the same ones or not even the big schools...No I dont think that way at work the best should be compensated that way but from a management stand point even your least experienced employee is valuable..... I know i'm not gonna win this argument lol your as hard headed as me so i will just be quiet.. After thinking about it yes I understand what he was saying. These are kids not grown men and when you can get kids out doing sports it's a good thing todays generation just wants to  play games and have everything handed to them. The ones that work for it do have my respect even if they stink.......

I took it wrong and yes they pretty much stink so you could be right....

  9. Well they bout to print more shirts and have em another parade. Dont  these 2 squads have some of the same opponents? Did WH beat Colmesneil? Gosh athletes all over the field in these games...just so much speed...im going to go out on a  limb and say neither team has anyone that can bench press 225 or run a sub 5.0 40 yard dash...that equals bad, bad football

Lol that's funny just because neither team is very good and the kids do not go to a big school I guess is your reasoning for that remark..SMH get a life dude. It does not matter to any of these kids if they are real strong or fast all of them have a love for the game so they play. They have been through the summer heat and all of the practices and the losses. They deserve a little respect and not some ass hole that don't know anything about either team running his head when he was probably a cheer leader or band member and couldnt make a football team. Sorry if this offends you but all kids that play a sport deserve respect not someone running them down cause their not as good as someone else......GOOD LUCK TO BOTH TEAMS.....GO BOBCATS

  10. My posts were not to come across as a knock on HD and the kids. Those kids give their best effort.  I just hate it for the program, the community and all those involved over there. It sucks to see the life get sucked out of something when it can be saved or resolved.  A little consolidation never hurt anybody. I think it would do a lot of good actually. Hopefully Friday will be a good contest and the winner can feel good about their season based on this win alone.

MossHill  I took no offense to your posts and understand what you are trying to say. Yes H-D is not what it once was and i will grudgingly give you this Hardin has came a long way but why would I want to move my kid from one losing team to another. I believe he can lose at home and not have to travel and if they win Friday night it wont be a feel good moment  in this season it will maybe be a good win but that's all beating W-H or Hardin is not defined at H-D as a good season. If I chose to move my kids it would be to Barbers Hill not for sports but academics. Lets face it the only real consistent program around here is Dayton as far as football. When is the last time Hardin or Liberty for that matter been to the playoffs. So although it is tempting to come over to Hardin we might as well stay here and die a Bobcat thanks anyway.

  11. Dying.  Not dead.  Not yet anyway...and no offense.  No new business, steady shrinking student population, and growing older population...is the definition of a town that's dying.  Sorry to be the one to tell you.

Even though I did graduate from Daisetta I know the definition of dying but thanks for clearing me up on it. The town has had no new business for the last 40 years or more so I guess it's just a slow one. Sorry but I really think you don't know what your actually talking about. By the way the businesses that are there have been there for at least the last forty years.

  12. No body is saying you guys are lacking loyalty.  Trust me...I know that you HD fans love your HD history.  All I'm saying is that those days are long gone and will never be back.  That's my opinion.  Take it how you wish.

I think it's mighty ironic that you guys use HD's all time winning percentage...and these other schools' all time losing % in the same sentence.  Because these same schools that are historically the worst teams in the state account for a huge portion of HD's all time wins. So to me...it's irrelevant that HD has historically won so many games.  How many of those wins came from High Island, Chester, Sabine Pass, Hardin, West Hardin, and Kountze?  I know you can't help who you play...but you guys talk a lot about how much you win, and how much the teams you guys play are terrible..  So...I've come to the conclusion that historically HD has amassed a huge number of wins against teams that cant beat anybody.

I understand the point you are making and you are probably right but we havent always played the worst teams there is. Hardin and W-H yes they were always in district.Last 10 years or so they have gave up playing the tougher teams and started playing the ones that looked easy i guess is the way to put it lol. I dont live in the past I played at H-D in the 80s always had good teams dont need to relive it. No offense to you are anybody here but when you start talking about my town or the school that my kids go to saying its dead when you dont live there and dont have a clue as to what goes on there then yes it makes me a little mad. Your just like the rest of us on this forum you have an opinion and probably a chip on your shoulder against H-D for some reason but hey your allowed your opinion as am I. Hope to one day prove your opinion wrong if not I will be the first to say hey you were right.......

  13. HD had a good run..  there is not denying.  But it's about run it's course.  I believe the town is just dying, with no reason for anyone to move in there.  From what I understand you guys are losing kids at a rate that doesn't even make sense to entertain the idea of being competitive.  Maybe the school should just fold, and merge with neighboring towns....before a strong tradition turns into a joke of a program.

OldSchool we respect your opinion and I will agree H-D may never be what it once was but there is still kids that dont play because they dont like the coach or whatever their reason may be. There is still kids that are here and regardless of what anybody thinks they still need the support of the people in the town. We are from here and still live here our kids still go to school here as for dying it is true we dont get many new students and we have lost a lot of young kids from not many moving in but it is still a town that  has a football team and for its classification i think that we will be competitive in the future. Will we ever be back to where we just dominate I doubt it but you never know. The stats you posted are true but every coach has been over 50% except the coach that is there now.I consider a winning season as one where you make the playoffs there has been very few years that we have missed them. Yes we are one of the worst teams in the state now but I can remember when Kountze had the longest losing streak in the state if not the country and they are at least competitive now.You are entitled to your opinion but I for one wont give up on Bobcat football untill they either close the doors or dont play football there anymore.Thats what it means to be loyal and a Bobcat!!!!!

  14. If you are living in the past, then yes I have no rhyme or reason to talk. But, it's 2015 and Hardin is in the 4th spot in one of the toughest districts in the state. Our history is horrible, but history is not playing a factor in this season now is it? West Hardin and HD have been terrible for 5-6 years and it's getting worse every second. Hardin is going in opposite direction from you, "ole boy". You say, Hardin has won 30% of their games all time.

HD is winning 30% of their games for the last 4 years. No what? West Hardin is in the same boat.

I will give Hardin props they have been better the last few years and seem to be growing and getting better every year.Daisetta has only had a losing record the last 2 years. Is H-D in the same league as Hardin idk but in the history of things I would say H-D has had more winning seasons than Hardin and will be back to winning again im sure.

  15. SA would do a heck of a lot better job at playing Alto than HD!  HD is a joke and should forfeit when it comes district time...

kinda funny looks like SA with 10 seniors is not doing much better.Maybe a joke in that part of the world also and since neither will get the privlage to play Alto then I think you dont have anything to talk about unless it is to hear the dumb thoughts come out of your mouth.

  16. How bout you go apply for the coaching job, since you have all the answers.  I know some people on HD school board maybe they can get you and gator hired.  Maybe y'all can get some more horses in the stable.

I don't think they are wanting to be the coach but when your offense can't move the ball something needs to be changed.Anyone that has watched any games this year can tell you what they are doing is not working so go with something that you have the talent to run. The slot-t,power-i or something along those lines.H-D has a very young team play to their talents and you just may win a few more games.
