I think the whole situation probably had a lot to do with the kid’s connection with “The Footwork King.”

I have to agree along with mom having a good QB for a son  and seeing a chance to get a stud WR on the same team .

I have seen him at  numerous camps around Houston and  he would take the time with younger kids who are WR to show

them proper way to run routes along with helping them with foot work.

  2. So if coaches make adjustments on D  that all the arm chair coaches believe need to be made, PNG offense( RJ) doing

all it can do and some how PNG  still looses  are the PNG fans HAPPPY with this season or do they consider it a bust? The reason I ask as I have stated before top rated QB in nation for 2 years and can only manage a share of district and make it 3 rounds in playoffs.

My assumption of PAM was that when they entered the district they would be unbeatable. Gobs of D1 talent, huge numbers for enrollment, a plethora of talent going 3 deep in some positions. But after the 2 years, do you feel they have done anything to distance themselves from the rest of the "Cupcake" district. IMO, the numbers would say NO.....

So if we are assuming that PAM with more talent, more numbers for enrollment , etc and can only manage to share a district

title. Then can the same  be assumed about PNG? You have one of the top dual threat QB in the nation going on 2 years and can only get a share of the title, even against weak teams he has to go all 4 qts because there is no depth at QB, lost MCM  AGAIN, had to put RJ in on defense just to beat Crosby.  So IMO the talent level at 225A is about the same over the last few years for those schools that are getting into the playoffs.

So how many of you armchair quarterbacks would be bad mouthing Barrow today had the 2-point conversion failed, saying he should have went for the tie?

how many arm chair coaches are complaining  about Faircloth pooch kick and the defense ?  PNG is one dimensional and that is RJ, Nederland

shutdown the pass and it was RJ left, RL right, and RK up the middle. Be glad u got a share of district and maybe luck go 2 or 3 rounds deep in playoffs

You have to look at the 2009 team was not the work of Brandon Faircloth that was his first year they were the kids of Matt Burnette and staff! I know BF likes to take credit for that but all those starters were on varsity in 2008 and weren't developed by BF!

ok this is 2017, stop crying about if we had Burnette these kids would do this, these kids would do that. You sound like a LSU fan crying about not having Saban. U won a share of district title again and going to playoffs.

My thoughts are Png should have stayed with game plan, Running RJ every play doesn't make sense when we have the weapons we have. The soph runningback was running decent they stopped feeding him the ball, Riggs didn't get too many opportunities , Stansbury  did what he did, didn't throw to #9 at all Hughes didn't get much touches, im sure the Booster club meeting tonight the parents wont hold their tongue, I keep hearing about Seniors on the bench that should be playing on defense. Well after watching 9 games I can honestly tell you our Defense is horrible, the front four get it done but the secondary is the question mark. He needs to move some people around to different positions. Boast Needs to be moved back to where he was, I would say put Stansbury back on defense, but  he is scared to tackle, I thought the move to offense was the right move for him just my opinion which doesn't mean doodlely squat. Not trying to single any kid out, #4 is always in the right spot, but trying to sling someone down instead of rapping up and going to ground or waiting for help, smh. I could go on and on, but it is what it is I haven't been pleased with the defense this year and I am beginning to believe that it is a lost cause this year. Im not sure why he plays the kids that he plays but I will say this offense sales tickets, defense wins championships and we aren't capable of playing defense. its a shame when your qb throws a pic and makes better tackles than the defense. RJ needs to be at safety I don't care what anyone says, if Faircothe has a lead and is trying to protect it he better send the kid to the safety position and let him be a playmaker. Just my two cents, the kid can catch and run and hit and is a pure athlete, cant be scared to put him into make a stop or two.

I agree they are horrible but the  PNG defense has played good enough to hold most teams in 22-5A, coupled with  RJ and  that gets you a share of the district title. All the pts scored, rushing TD, passing TD mean ZERO going forward. It is playoff time and everybody starts the same. I have wondered why RJ is not playing D, maybe daddy has some strict rules about no D  maybe Big Bro can explain.

  7. All  the kids went out and battled and it came down to Ned out coaching  BF and company. Shutdown the pass and u force them to rely on a kid that has been road hard for the last 2 years.  I look for Faircloth to leave after RJ senior year, he will have average talent and struggle to when district championship. For 2 years he has had the #3 dual threat QB in a weak 22-5A and can only get a share of district.

Coach Brandon Faircloth has just completed his first 100 games at PN-G. He has established himself well in the local area as a pretty good coach. He has 69 wins to 31 loses. That's an even 69% winning percentage. Coach Faircloth went 11-1 in his first season at PN-G going undefeated for the district championship. PN-G beat Barbers Hill that season in a close match 21-7 and lost to State Finalist Brenham Cubs 27-21. PN-G was driving deep into Brenham territory when time ran out. In his second season PN-G went 8-5, but they mad it through Barbers Hill again with the exact same score as the year before 21-7. Both BH games were hard fought all the way to the end. The second round he faced a high-powered offense in Willis that season and at Beaumont's new stadium the Indians came away with a 50-47 victory only to draw Manvel in the next round. This game was going to be a massive blowout by all accounts. Somehow Coach Faircloth led his team to make it a close game 56-46. Coach has lead PN-G down the trails of victory for almost 9 seasons now and with his win against Central he has surpassed Coach Gene McCollum as the third-winningest coach in Indian history. He needs 27 more wins to pass up first Doug Ethridge and then Coach Matt Burnett to become the Indians all-time winningest coach. So I believe that through Coach Faircloth's first 1oo games he has done a great job for the Indians helping the Indians achieve 29 All-State selections. He has been to the playoffs 8 out of his 9 seasons and either won outright or been a part of 4 district championships and has been 2nd in district two more times. He has had only one single losing season. Coach Faircloth beat Nederland for this first time since 2009 and maybe starting his own streak against them. Good luck Coach Faircloth as you begin rewriting the record books at PN-G with the players and coaching both.

Can you post what Faircloth playoff record is ? Winning district or sharing district in a weak 22-5A is fine but what counts is

    playoffs.

we see this irrational questioning every week, the backup is starter on defense that is why they Leave RJ in, Boast is out there working his tail off on defense.

So to keep the streak of irrational questions going does RJ set against Ozen ? Why play him? PNG has a  playoff spot would seem

like a game that  backups can get in and get playing time under their belt.

With Playoff implications on the line, the Jags and Indians came out on Thursday night ready for action.

    My thoughts.....

Central, without there first string QB, started the game with a disadvantage. But that's the way football goes. I thought offensively they ran the ball well at times, but the passing attack was struggling most of the night. Play selection appeared to be better than years past, meaning they where not as predictable. The coaching staff seemed to have it together and Definately had the team playing hard until the end. The defense looked pretty good, other than the few long plays that the WRs got by the DB. But give them credit, they played man coverage with a single high safety all night. After seeing the whole district play now, IMO, Central is a top 4 team reguardless of the final standings. I hope they make the playoffs because they have some speed and talent. With the exception of PAM, some of the district teams look like JV squads. Central does not, they are a good team and can get out of the first round if they are clicking.

PNG, offensively there where periods where you could see what they can do. But overall, I think what you saw was a "B" night. RJ was amped up and played pretty good. He did miss some throws that he usually doesn't, and he did make some highlight throws that no one else can. IMO, the running backs need to get more consistent when they hit the hole. My example is the few times Hughes ran the ball, he hit the hole for a quick 5 yards, no dancing, just getting yardage. PNG needs to work on that. Riggs, well he's a BEAST, and I'm sure no one will contradict that statement. Defensively, I thought they did well. Lots of missed tackles, but still made plays. #37 and #47 where difference makers. As for the DBs, last night was the first night they looked for the ball. So some good coaching has taken place. Kudos to those guys for 4 picks.... I do not think that was PNGs best game, but we are peaking at the right time. A couple of special team issues need to be fixed, however, #30 is still money even though he missed 1....

So my stance has not changed.

    Playoff Teams should be

    Central

    Nederland

    PAM

    PNG

IMO that is the 4 best teams that can give the best showing for the District.....

And Central is not a team I would sleep on in the First Round!

I have to agree , Central has to change the culture and it seems the coach is doing that. I liked seeing the DB's challenging  the PNG WR.  My only thought is even with PNG putting up 50+ RJ still has to go 4 quarters , I wonder if PNG staff don't have the confidence in backup to get the snaps in to help keep RJ healthy and away from the wear and tear.

we gave up 300 yards rushing last week and 200 yards passing ,  and yes we lasted 4 qts and won so what is your point, may have been the dumbest observation / question yet. The PNG Defense just needs to make three or four stops the offense will do the rest!!

Yea I am sure coaching staff are happy giving up 500 yards and having to use trick plays to pull off a win. From what I hear that is what Katy, Austin Westlake, WOS do as well. Only thing is they win state championships and PNG wins district titles.  I believe your statement is dumbest my friend.

  12. Keys to Pirate Victory

    1. Be patient on offense, manage the clock

    2. jam WR on the line take advantage of the 5 yards ,

    3. no stupid mistakes

    4. Do not cut grass

    5. have heater on inside the PNG locker room and press box where PNG coachers are

    6. make PNG fans park on Old Hwy 90

    7. change light bulbs to a lower wattage to affect boy wonder passing.( this is where high grass helps on his speed)

Can not wait for game ,  Pirates win in OT

If you are going to do a hat draw at least do it live and in front of everyone. That is why I am asking for records to see what it is going to look like in the first round.

NED-B(4-1) vs NED-G (1-3) I think - now no offense but i have heard this is the weakest of the Nederland teams because they are young which usually means next year they will be tough next year

PNG-P (3-2) vs PA (no telling) - Watched PA play BMT- B for 1 quarter and well it wasn't the chiefs I have seen in the past (UPSET ALERT)

WBB-W (5-0) vs WBB-G (1-4) - now is this even fair to do this to a team

GAME OF THE WEEK - WBB-B (4-1)  vs Vidor-G (4-1) - this will be a a great playoff match up and worth watching - Nederland White better be scouting this game because Vidor - G has been holding back. (UPSET ALERT)

    Lumberton -R (2-3) vs PNG-G (1-4) - first off this just isn't right

    Lumberton-W (3-2) vs Vidor- B (1-4) - come on folks

Ned White (4-1) and PNG White (?) drew 1st round byes.

PLEASE KNOW I AM GUESSING ON RECORDS BECAUSE i WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW EVERYONE DID THIS SEASON. HAT DRAW OR NOT REGULAR SEASON RECORDS SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION FOR FIRST ROUND BYES IN MY OPINION. TOP 4 TEAMS GO IN HAT FIRST. PULL TWO NAMES. BOOM TOP TWO TEAMS. THEN YOU START DRAWING EVERYONE ELSE. IN MY OPINION I HOPE CERTAIN TEAMS DON'T OVER LOOK TEAMS

NED-B   : hopefully coach gets his lead and lets backups play

PA -- PNGP will make a request to start game late due to PNG Varsity playing at Vidor and they also have to drive to BMT for 1st round

WBB-W:  same as NED B get lead and let other kids play , knowing BMT though coach will try and blow his own organization out of the water

WBB-B- Vidor G :   toss up will be at that game

Lum R--  just based on record

LUM W--  just based on record

good luck to all the kids and coaches and hope everyone stays healthy,

I wonder what school WBB Quaterback go to? Lol...Always a excuse....coach you kids up and beat them..Thats all need to be done...

Hit a nerve,   instead of worrying about making a bet coach your team . If your not a coach help them guys at WBB they need volunteers

  15. I have seen them both play and both can play at next level, just think RJ's camp has done a better job of promoting him and getting him the trainers that are needed to sharpen skills. It will be interesting to see if RJ stays with UT , true freshman has team along with other top QB recruits coming in next year as well. Either way good luck to both kids and hope they realize the gifts they have and opportunities this great game is giving them

Truth is both towns had teams ask for earlier games including PNG flag teams cancelling mid week leaving Lumberton's president scrambling to find his kids games to play.

PNG wanted to join the school's Homecoming refusing to play late games and Lumberton was very accommodating. If the PNG coaches and board didn't related the proper game times then it is not Lumberton's fault.

The coach that was kicked out was warned at the coaches meeting with us all that cursing on the sideline will not be tolerated. The ref heard him say the F word.

When you talk about PNG effusing to place games or always wanting to have games accommodate the so they can watch varsity is something that has been going on for a number of years. Just last week I heard Vidor Sr forfeit game so they can watch Vidor get beat by Nederland. Easy fix from STJFL schedules games either play or forfeit.  This is a simple fix if those on STJFL will step up and handle.

VID B- WEST BMT --- WEST BMT , just wondering how good they would be if their QB played in the town he goes to school in

You might want to check your fact, cause apparently you don't know what you are talking about since the kid does and always has gone to school in Beaumont.

could you please tell me what middle school in BMT he attends ?

  18. HF-JASPER--  Jasper just based on they always have a solid program

KTZ-LCM--  LCM runs away with it

PNG-W- LUM-B--   LUM B  hear this is the stacked team , but PNG W in upset

BC- LUM-W--  BC beats up on big school

SIL- NED W-   SIL with the win

VID B- WEST BMT --- WEST BMT , just wondering how good they would be if their QB played in the town he goes to school in

PA-WOS---- Slug Fest , WOS with the win got tradition on their side

  19. Looks like it will be up for grabs in Big School, hearing rumors that PA or West BMT maybe early favorites. I am sure PA will

have some big kids and they always play tough. West BMT not sure if they have the horses to repeat. I look for a upset from

maybe a Vidor, Ned, PNG ... Look forward to season and hope all the kids stay safe
