As a city no, but for college sports heck yes. Disch-Falk holds twice as many fans as Cougar Stadiium. 3500+ more seats over possibly 3 games is a lot of money for the NCAA. If you noticed at Rice last weekend, there were a lot of empty seats except for the 3 A&M v Texas games. The NCAA definitely makes more money on college sports in Austin than they do in Houston.

The NCAA announced the Super will be in Austin due to "greater revenue potential." Houston kinda got hosed on that since they had the higher rank and beat a national seed to advance.

I'm not a huge fan of giving an admitted drug addict a big contract, especially one that has never had an at bat in the MLB. Now if he hits 50 bombs a year and doesn't get caught, then he can smoke all of the pot he wants.....

It will be interesting to see where they have the Super. Them and Houston are both 2 seeds. Houston probably has the better RPI. It's up to the NCAA to decide.

Chad Hollingsworth is supposedly starting for Texas tonight. Bridge City fans should remember the Waco Robinson product well as he send them home multiple times over the last few years. He hasn't started a game this year, but in 37 innings out of the pen his era is 1.69. Mengden only threw 57 pitches on Friday, so he should be good to throw some. Hopefully he doesn't suck as bad on Monday's as he has on Friday's all year long.

A&M has already taken 2 of 3 from LSU this year. The Ags almost swept the Tigers if not for an unbelievable, play of the year type catch from the left fielder in the bottom of the 9th. [Hidden Content]
