  1. Its always good to be in the driver seat but even PNG has lost the first game in two series and came back to win it. I like that we beat the so called ACE and we still have our two better pitchers left but you never know, it all comes down to who can get the bats going.

  2. Me and three buddies attended the spring game in Austin, there are things to be excited for and some concerns. I would have liked to see what Ehlinger could have done behind the #1 offense oline, he was being pressured every down with the back ups. Still think Buechele will win out but just curious what Sam would had looked like with some time. The RBs need to get healthy, might have been a different outcome at the end if that was Chris warren running it from the goaline. We have a lot of play makers at WR, should be fun to watch them this year. Just curious what some of you other guys thought, I realize its a spring game and its very vanilla, but hey its football.

The Lumberton players were not the ones, you are correct....however....running through the catcher and shoving catcher is a violation of the rule and if deemed malicious the player should be ejected and the slide at 2B was what got the coach on the field....should have been an automatic double play because you can't make contact with the 2nd Baseman past the bag or to the side of bag...this rule was put in for safety of all athletes....personally I like the take his a$$ out play but not allowed any longer....Coach was protecting his players from injuries. And umpires that do this job as a hobby for the extra cash and don't read or understand the rule book are a problem.

I can agree with this, very well put.

How do you predict the outcome of these games im going to go with

    PNG

    NED

    LUM

    Porter.

I would agree with that. PNG has the more favorable match up.  Nederland and Lumberton will have to be on top of there game to win, which they can.

It would be nice to sweep the other district, just don't see it happening.

Sounds like sour grapes to me. There were many fouls by the raiders that didn't get called. When we played in lumberton your clock operator was stopping the clock to try and give y'all more time.

and if you want to talk about red cards in the first game on of the Lumberton players punched one PNG players in the face and didn't get a red card. Any sport you play when you throw a punch you get ejected so if you want to talk about unfair Refs you need to look at that game.

And Cozmo with the mic drop......walks off stage.

Well I don't like the hill either but I will say it's hard to win a ball game by throwing 4 picks, but they almost pulled it off, against yalls top team. And Porter, well yep their first playoff game in 5a was one to remember, but those are hardly enough to beat on your chest, oh and the other two games well, a W is just what they were. In the playoffs thats the kind of games the fans want to see.

The sad thing is Central was the fifth best team in 22-5A. Nederland having to forfeit against Livingston is the only reason they didn't make it. They could of have won with their freshmen qb that game, but I realize its all should of, and could of.

  7. Im pretty sure Conor quit football so he could focus on his baseball . Just to make sure I checked the rosters on Maxpreps and the school website and McGrath wasn't on either one. Nederland would have to be very desperate to trust a kid who hasn't played all year. Throwing a baseball and  throwing a football is like apple and oranges.

Vidor was called for interfering with the receiver catching the ball. I've seen the play several times. The PNG player who was identified as the receiver made no attempt to catch the ball. The Vidor players ran right by him, without touching him. The ball was recovered behind him. The ball had traveled ten yards, so no illegal touching. The ball was recovered and the Vidor players were running off the field when the flag was thrown. The refs missed an illegal hit in the back on the play by PNG.

Not saying this called decided the outcome of the game. But it was a huge monumentium changer. If the call was made right and Vidor scores before half to go up 29-13, no telling how the second half goes. PNG may not have tried the on-side kick to start the third. For fear of giving Vidor a short field and being down by 16 already.

Game is over and the outcome is not changing. Time now for everyone cheer on the district and take down 21-5a.

Then that's was just a bad call on the official part but that call is a legit call

Those are all fair catch rules.  Would apply if the player called for a fair catch. Doubt that is the case on an onside kick bouncing on the ground.  If every onside kick was officiated like that one, the kicking team would never have a chance to recover.  Use some common sense.

Nope it and says free kick also, to make sure I called my cousin who is an official in the Houston area and he verified the rule, but said it doesn't get called very often.
