Same goes for 4 or 5 of the DISD schools...In that grades, attendance zones, and player accepting $$$ to play at certain schools....Even while coming from Middle Schools......Serves the administration right for turning the cheek for this long....Hope someone loses their job and teaching certificates....BOOM!

Just trying to get some info on my 4yr old going to turn 5 in May for baseball and football.  He played T-Ball this past year, but I was told they had something in Nederland with a 3 pitch and then the tee if they didnt hit. Does Nederland play flag or jsut Port Neches any info. would help.

Seen the past 2 Dogs games...If they get the QB forced out of the pocket they will throttle the dogs....If he stays in the pocket he's got a nice rocket for a young kid....Their defense struggles with runs outside the tackles...Central has some nice runners and athletes....My prediction....Central 31-Nederland 14...Nederlands defense will fold and get worn down, they have no backups....

I was just using it as a figure of speech...I'll be at the first "Redbird" football game when it happens...

If football was to return I hope people would shell out the cash to buy season tickets to get the entire program off the ground...Too many times SETexas athletic junkies talk about "how they would love LU football, or how they would love a Triple AAA ball club back to BMT"....Bottom line would be people supporting the programs just like in all cities.....I'd do it in a heartbeat!

No Doubt...Watching his lazy butt get blocked and then waddle back and play no "d" was awful...He should have taken the advantage of getting in shape and playing good minutes at the D-1 level...

The big athletic schools are double blocked in major sports across the board, and haven't had issues with credits.  I was apart of a couple of those myself years ago...Every once in a while a Jr/Sr might need to be single blocked for one semester if they have come up short due to academic reason....Besides that it is being done...

Having the basketball players double blocked doesnt call for putting 1 sport before the other.  It calls for the title "athletic director" to come out and do whats best for the programs.  If you go to double blocking your sports you would actually see a higher participation over the entire program.  Look at Plano ISD/Irving ISD and many other Houston suburbs that have moved their athletic programs to the front of participation....I'll put money that it changes for the 2008-2009 school year! 

I am pretty sure Coach Enlgish has made his point clear on what it will take to move his program forward.  The one thing I have seen happen in the Dallas area where football/basketball kids with an upside in basketball has been kids quitting football....The schools finally started moving their block scheduling to both days for JV/Varsity and freshmen had just the every other day class...So as a coach you could move your "better" freshmen into the JV/VAR period if you wanted...(obviously) you would be this with your kids going "straight basketball"...If nothing happens this year, I would be a betting man that it does in 2008....Too many basketball parents have moved back to the are with Coach English getting the job....They will feel the HEAT!

The Nederland 8th graders or soon to be 9th graders have a couple good players....Good inside game, with English at the helm the dogs will have plenty of upsides over the years to come...

Knight should do a decent job, its good to see (Football) guys hiring actual basketball coaches these days...

I would stand behind you in supporting the issue with Nederland Basketball.....Let me know the time and place and I am sure the "we dont want to do it for just basketball" wouldnt come up again...I have always wondered why it was ok for "football" to not be the "only sport doing it".....
