league play right now...I am not trying to go nuts or anything....I coached HS Basketball for 10 years and been away from the baseball ranks for a while....Didnt know what bats where the "good" bats these days and just trying to catch up...

I am from the Black Magic and 33 inch Green Easton days....

Any brands from Academy for his age any good?...I got the TPX and picked up a Demarini yesterday....The TPX was a 12.5 (light) and the Demarini was a 15 oz....Seemed to crank it off a little better with the heaveir bat....Thanks for the helps everyone....Just not up to speed on the new bat names...

I've got a 5 year old who had a TPX 25/12.5 ounce.....He's a small kid with good bat control....

Any bats I could look at for this young age...I was just thinking maybe a little heavier of a bat...Maybe a 25/15 or so....Not looking to blow the big money yet...

Any advice would be great...

What I find funny about those that post things like..."He doesnt have HC experience etc"....Is that....Todd Dodge was not over .500 before he got his first nod....So where is the justification?...The guy has been at good schools with some great coaches on staff....

I do agree that having probably somewhere in the area of 7-10 years experience in the field is necessary, but all coaches that pursue a HD coaching job have to have a 1st one....

The comments on no hd coaching experience is bogus....

I hear ya on that....Most of the school in the Dallas Metroplex as well have indoor facilities like that...

Even a 60-70 yard facility would be nice when weather permits.....

Is there a place somewhere else for this...

Young Coach...The "farm club" of coaches they have in Plano has always been plentiful and produced many coaches in the past....I will give ol Hughes a call to see where he scales him on the list to others of the ol Plano that are out there waiting for their shot...I could name 3 or 4 of them off hand that would run circles around Garrett's offensive play calling in a heartbeat....

I am not here to put one applicant down at all...But he is not in the same category of those that should be mentioned for this one....

I am still not understanding why Garrett is high on the list...No offense but he came from the Middle School as well as 9th and 10th grade campus that feeds Plano West...Hits Duncanville for a year and now someone believes he is ready for a job like PNG....

I am from SeTexas and have witnessed many Dallas Metorplex as well as other across state high school football programs and if he is what they get with all the coaches around the state, I would be dissapointed for that PNG program....Nothing against the coach, but there are at least 3 other names on that list that are easily put above his....

As you can see I am not pumping anyone up, just stating the facts....

I think Faircloth played at Brownwood in HS....Played baseball at Sam Houston Univ....Coached at Westlake/Highland Park and now is at OPermian...

My question on him is....Is he really the OC or does the Assoc Head Coach call the offense....Big difference in my opinion...I noticed the Assoc head Coach came in after he moved to Odessa Permian???.....I would need more assurance...

I would still have to put the following guys in the race with Vance out:

Danaher

Griffin

Faircloth

McAngus

I dont think Garrett would get the nod before Faircloth...JMO

And the list gets smaller....

Danaher would be the no brainer....If Vance was brought in, PNG should have just kept Burnett and told him to get something more out of the offense.....

Who on that list after those (2) are solid?

They just hired an Assoc Head Coach with alot of offensive experience a year or so back?

I like the experience Faircloth has at great football program schools like (OPermian, HP, and Westlake) however there are many old Permian, Plano, Katy etc young coaches that have went out and took 3A HD coaching jobs to have the full experience of Head Coach....The people in the PNGISD would eat him alive if things were not even going close to their way....Not good for a young gun....

If Danaher wants it, its his...I think Vance would do Ok.....However I think people are overlooking guys like Judd, Chancellor and the guy from Justin Northwest (look at that district and his past experience)....

I would want to know more on Fairlcoth and if he is actually "calling the shots"...They just brought in an Assoc. Head Coach????.....Hmmmm

Can anyone tell me more about Lonnie Judd...Didnt Midway lose on the controversial call against Longview this year.....

He has experience at a school that does produce good athletes....Just going down the list and wanted to see if anyone knows more....

I have always felt that a "decent" team always had a easy road through Region IV....In fact look at District 31 and it should almost hand you over 5 wins a season if you are Flour Bluff or vice versa CCalallen....

I do think they are both good coaches coming from that district but I would like to see someone that has to face some grit every friday night just to win a dog fight....Thats what this region is made of....To make it 3 rounds here you gotta bring it every night.....

I would still think that a school like PNG should have been able to pull a successful 3-4A head coach (maybe not getting paid the (85-100K) or a OC/DC from a powerhouse type school with years of experience....

I just dont see the list I was expecting to see...Leave out Danaher/Vance....

Faircloth- is not the #2 guy at OPermian

Garrett - from what I have seen hasnt had to be "the man incharge" in any of his experiences

3 or 4 of the other HD coaches havent even had success...Am I missing something?

I agree with ya on the jaw droppers....Faircloth got to where he is because of Matt Stafford (HPark) obviously a major draft positions in the NFL this year....

If Danaher is true of coming, I would go with him....Vance would be my most likely next candidate....

If you look at CCalallen the demographics are changing and not for the football better...I could see Danaher wanting a 5-8 year deal and bring a couple young gun OC/DC with him...Hell he could keep some of the better young guys PNG has and coach them up to do what he wants...

I still see these names as potential also....

Vance...Proven winner

Critchlow...Experience at all levels....(could bring Barbay with him)

Faircloth....Not really the #2 guy in Odessa...They have an Assoc Hd Coach and he was at HPark...
