Pantherfan don't let HD Boy get you all upset. He has to be a kid by reading his post. Barbay was in HD for 8 seasons and he just now started believing in him?? If he didn't believe in him before now, then he wasn't ever going to believe!! 

Congratulations Bryan!  Would like to see a pre-season game between Coldspring and Anahuac. 

That would be the only way you would get to see a "Barbay Vs Barbay"!! I don't think Anahuac or Coldspring is big enough for Barbay senior to play.. Newton's non-district schedule is Crockett, Silsbee, Jasper and Carthage....

Man, where is the love for Anahuac??  ;D  We went 3-7 last year, finished the last two season below .500.. Now that Barbay is in control I figure we could go 6-4 or if the stars lined up maybe 7-3.. Now with all this said I will admit I am looking thru panther colored glasses!! 

Eaglefan, eaglefan.. come on brother, put away the hater aid.. Down here in panther land we are looking for postive things. Like winning some games, seeing that the program is turning around in the right direction.. No one here is expecting us to make the play-offs much less beating Newton in the 1st round.. If you read my earlier post it stated.. If we make the play-offs, I would drive the bus to newton just to get blowed out.. hahaha  Hopefully in a couple of years I can talk some smack with you eaglefan and the team back it up!! Who knows, it does make for some good talk anyways..

Man, can football season get here soon enough?? LOL All of this smack talking has everyone ready for some football. As for Buna, I can tell you this. Enjoy this year all you can. Darrell will turn things around in Anahuac and next year teams will think twice before they make Anahuac everyone's homecoming game!! We will take our lumps and growing pains this year. But with that said, if some team decides that Anahuac will be a give me game this year. Barbay will make them pay for that.. 

You're right Coop, but I wouldn't count Tatum out just yet. They have a stud that played LB last year and only saw limited carries because of the Creer kid that went to Tenn. He is expected to carry to ball this year. The QB is back for a third year starter on varsity and the have a WR that I think has verbally already committed to Ok State..

"Even Tatum"??  I wonder if Marlin would have something to say about that?? haha Didn't Newton lose to Marlin only to be crushed by Tatum??

After the past seasons we have had, if we make the play-offs this year. I would drive the bus to Newtow to see dad show the son who is boss!! haha

On a serious note, Barbay is going to improve things here greatly. Making the play-offs this year is going to be tough. We don't return many seniors and we will be a young team. I think most of us will settle for turning the ship the right direction and building for the future..

45k must be what Kountze offered him.. Like DickVitale stated, the job in Anahuac will pay more than that.. Now with that said..

Tatum coach has pulled his name out the hat!!

Dicky V, Dicky V.. Come on man, if you don't want people to know who you are. You need to hide your email address from your profile!! ;D  As for totalsports, I've heard the same thing. Joubert has his head football coach picked out and the board knows about it.. Not to sure how reliable the story of the job already being offered this weekend and was turned down is. The story about here is the board is meeting tomorrow and will fill the job then. But they might have already offered it up to introduce the new coach tuesday.. One thing about it, with all these rumors the message boards are burning up!!

Yes Darrell Barbay is the son of "THE BARBAY" from Newtow.. We would be lucky to have him come here. I hear he is doing great things in H-D right now.. The rumore has is Tatum coach has pulled out.. Hey Yates, err DickVitale.. I guess now you see why the Kountze coach would come to Anahuac. There aren't many places you would have the chance to be the AD and still be the head basketball coach. Kind of the best of both worlds, gets the AD pay, keeps coaching basketball.. No heat if the football doesn't turn around.

You could be right about the Tatum coach. I talked to him last week and he is the one that told me he was interviewing before the board. Like I said, they have a great program up there, back to back champs and a chance for a third. I would say that is a lot to give up. Plus the oldest child will be a senior and I think that has a lot to do with his decision.. He will do good where ever he decides to go..

The Tatum coach did apply and he interviewed before the board last week. Rumor has it the board will make a decision Tuesday. I would like to see the Tatum coach get it, but his heart doesn't seem to be in it. I guess it is hard to walk away from the program they have in Tatum right now. But like some other people have stated already. I would like to see a coach that is willing to stay here in Anahuac and build a program. Someone that will bring back some pride to the school. If you ask me, there is none of that right now. Who ever gets it, they have their work cut out for them.
