For Nederland I think this was a good learning game and we'll be better cause of it. The defense gave up yards but still forced 3 turnovers and a pick 6. Just need our offense to stay on the field longer. I think we'll be good to go once district starts though

28 pages of grown men arguing back & forth about 16, 17 and 18 year old kids. And really not much substance... This is pretty sad. 
Let's let them handle it on the field. I'll be there to support Crosby but good luck to both teams. Nederland is always good and deserves respect. Not only classy fans and a great program, but Coach Nuemann has given a lot of years to keep them very competitive. Also, Nederland has a ton of kids in band and drill team. They always put first class products on the field. 
Crosby will be aiming for their 10th straight playoff appearance this year so we are not just "all of sudden" respectable. 
I expect a good game as both teams are among the best in southeast Texas. See y'all there.

That's where the run to the semi finals began last year.  Crosby has done something the past 2 times they have met Nederland that PNG hasn't done in how many tries in a row now?  Win!

Well, some teams say that even when you get to varsity the non-district games don't count. Not giving excuses, just reasons Ned won some games yesterday but will get crushed tonight. 

You can look at the sub-varsity records from the last few years and see that it really doesn't have bearing on what the same kids will do a year or two later. The varsity has won over 30 games the last few years while  the freshman and jv combined may not have many more. 
I think especially at the jv level it's hard to gauge. If all your difference making sophomores are on varsity how can you judge the strength of what's basically a sophomore team in most cases? 
If you look at the freshman game you could clearly see the difference in level and number of athletes. Crosby was up 9 points with less than in 7 mins in the 4th quarter driving and dropped three straight passes then fumbled on the next drive. Ned scored with :55 left to take the lead. 
Those type of things get corrected in a year or two and become wins instead of losses. Ned's kids played hard for forty minutes while ours probably thought they had it won, which is something else that gets corrected.

BTW don't take the silence as being scared some of us enjoy our gated communities and non Nissan modes of transportation so we are busy with our careers. See On this side the Trinity we have careers not greensheet one dayers to get us by. Maybe y'all should read some books at the library while y'all are huddled up around the only free Internet service in MC. Must be hell logging in and out SETX.com on a Mac. 

Too bad y'all can't combine png and ned Friday night. That way we could kill two wannabes that live off great grandpas and weak 3A trophies with one stone (or one Beat downs in MCM). Advantage png this year in the MCM game. Nederland gonna still be reeling from getting throttled Friday night.

Behind Texas' favorite spectacle are the coaches who make the teams tick and tock. At least 64 public schools in the Greater Houston area pay professionals to teach high school boys to throw and tackle, and keep the competition tough in Texas.

With the attention football draws, it may not be surprising that the area's highest-paid coach rakes is more than PRICELESS a year. Even the lowest earner makes $70,000. Still not bad. Across the area, the average public high school head football coach makes $92,887, although some districts pay their coaches more than others like Crosby cannot put a cap on their guys worth and Nederland seems to be in store Friday night just to see how worthy they are.

The bar has been set and as you can see we're pretty good sports so we expect the same in return, so play ball. Oh and Nederland T-minus 35 hours and counting, tick tock tick tock.....

Well Enlighten us lil BG or perhaps stage name lil Cube or whatever your real name is, I hear your'e up for the Boyz in the Hood sequel called "little boyz in the hood," any truth to this?? 

I'm not looking for respect, just a little laughter is good for the soul on slow work days. That's why I leave the statistical info to my man 14.2 and I use the "we are better than you" approach. No threats here either, just disclaimers, you see in a politically correct society, that statement gives me a free pass to dismantle you from head to toe with no repercussions, unless of course I dismantle one of the elitist moderators, then I'm exiled to Elba (History lesson for those of you that have a junior high education, google does wonders). Anyhow, I also disagree with the trophy comment, the ultimate trophy is won by two 5A teams so it's truly a rarity, but all those "sub" trophies sure are impressive and should shut you up. Make no mistake it is the ultimate goal that is striven for and only WO-S, Newton, and Crosby have that as a realistic goal within this viewing area to be the top "DAWG".... So wait your turn cause dog is on the Cougar menu this week...tick tock tick tock...
