  5. Lumberton's Aaron Odom Selected As Co-Big 12 Pitcher Of The Week [Hidden Content]
  6. He was my second choice along with James Brown of Westbrook.
  7. Hey, I understand about recognizing kids, I love doing it in the summer and especially on this board. But, make the award mean something. I was not kidding about the couresty runner, it happen a few years ago.
  8. retiredoldcoach What I would like to see in All-District pics would be the best 9 players honored. Talk about watered down honors, All-District Courtesy Runner, come on ,lets have 9 postion players, then 2nd team.
  9. Angelle and Elhert are legit MVP of the districts. Other guys who seem to carry the load and team is still in the hunt: Nederland-Chris Laird PNG-Brandon Powell LCM-Landon Womack BC- Casey Jackson Hamshire-Fannett-Eric Neal HJ- Nathan Riccosa WOS-Eric Sparks/Nick Ayers
  10. Sometimes a kid can get lost when his team has a starting lineup that is 80% All-District. Derrick Coleman 2B/SS Bridge City
  11. 1..West Brook 2..Central 3..Memorial 4..WOS 5..Ozen 6..Nederland 7..Bridge City 8..Jasper 9..PNG 10..Newton

  13. Many good JUCO's in Texas. As for as the best that would be up to the individual need of the player. Top line Texas JC’s for years have been the Blinn’s, San Jac, Grayson, Navarro and many more. If someone had a choice the main reason would be playing time. Very few Div 1 teams will have a Freshman playing. Another reason could be the draft potential, as a Div 1 player cannot be drafted till Jr year, at a JUCO, they are available at any time.
  14. On paper, a Huffman (Bagley) vs Lufkin Hudson (Belt) could be in the making.
  15. The way the Womack kid has played this year, I believe he has pitched in both Nederland victories plus had big clutch hits in almost every big district win, Griff might say "Hey, let's play 2 out of 3, we're deep enough"
  16. Thank God those 10 locals in the Pro's on our other link didn't have to travel all over the country, as they stayed home and learned something missing in today's players.....how to field a ground ball.
  17. Did Shepherd pitch the same guy against Silsbee as they did against Jasper?
  18. 4-15-06 PNG's Allen Harrington 8 innings 3 hits 0 runs, as Lamar beat Sam Houston 3-0.
  19. Those are some gaudy numbers for the Powell kid. Nothing against the other kids at PNG, but Powell 's back must be like mine, sore . Womack had a career this week, if someone else can't post numbers better, he's got my vote.
  20. 4-14-06 Nederland's Dustin Hood went 3-5 with a double and rbi as Wake Forest beat Duke 10-9. Bridge City's Derek Blacksher went 9 innings giving up 5 hits and 3 runs as McNeese beat UTA 10-3. LCM's Shon Landry was 2-4 with 2 rbi's. Nederland's William DeLage went 8 innnings giving up 6 hits 1 run with 7 k's as Lamar beat Sam Houston 8-1. Kelly's William Henderson 2-4.
  21. LCM plays defense with the best of them. I was impressed with the quality bats they have as they hit the ball hard. Nederland to me has chance to still make some noise. They have competed in both games with LCM. Nederland's weakness is defense. Sometimes you can overcome that if you can score runs.
