Newton impressed me last Friday night. Physical and athletic. Backs run hard...really hard...and that is why several of those turnovers came at the end of runs. Sometimes you got to know when to go down or you run the risk of getting it stripped. Eagles by 14

I would not be surprised to see Newton and WOS at NRG Stadium come December. Kudos to the Newton fans...for a 3A-D2 program a lot of them made the long drive north for a non-district game.

Newton was impressive. Turnovers and Hendersons depth advantage really hurt them last nite. Good luck to the Eagles the rest of the way.

Im expecting a very competitive game. Newton is a really good program that punches above their weight. I think the Lions will get the job done but Newton will have some success running the ball and that will let the Eagles hang around. 

Can the Eagles head north and shock the 3-0 Lions?

I was wondering why I was getting baseball highlites instead of DLS - Trinity.

I watched Gilmer destroy Carthage and Atlanta. Imo they are the best team in 4A...D1 or D2. They do the best job I have ever seen of getting their playmakers the ball in space. I don't care who wins this one but I will take the Buckeyes 48-28.

I have not seen the Mustangs play but I have seen the Buckeyes a couple times and I just can't see anyone in 4A (including #1 Navasota) that would beat them. Gilmer by 20.

I cant wait for 2:00 tommorrow. Henderson had better be ready to play...but so had Jasper. I believe it will be lower scoring than I originally predicted.

Couple weeks ago you said Jasper is 3-0-1 vs Henderson...and I said I hope we get a chance to make that 3-1-1. Looks like I got my wish. This one will be a knock down, drag out, 4 qtrs brawl. Im gonna talk some smack...but I expect this game to come down to the last possession.

Jasper is the greatest team of all time. Bigger, faster and stronger than the Pittsburgh Steelers. Coached by the ghosts of Vince Lombardi and Tom Landry. I heard Peyton Manning calls Jaspers QB for advice. Jimmy the Greek picked Jasper to win the Super Bowl. No way Henderson should even be on the same field. I would not be surprised if Castles forfeits ahead of time.

I would love to see CH shock the hsfb world and beat NastySoda but I just dont see it happening. CHs offense is pretty good but their defense leaks like a sieve. Oh well, Go Dogs!

I have a place in my heart for old school power football...but even at the 4A level I prefer the spread these days. Imo hsfb has changed to an offensive game and you need the ability to make big plays and big plays are more likely to come from the spread.

What can I expect to see when Henderson hooks up with WC Saturday in New Caney?

Me and a couple of friends were at that game...and left middle of the 4th qtr. There was a triple header with John Tyler and Plano East being the last game. We got to Texas Stadium around half time of the first game...so we had had our fill of hsfb and with JT firmly in control we headed for the car. Heard the final score on the radio as we pulled onto I-20. Told my buddy "No way. The radio must have the score wrong". I can honestly say I ALMOST saw the greatest comeback that wasnt:(

I'm sure you would. There's a lot of football to play before that and I'm sure Silsbee will bring their best tonight. I think it's gonna be a better game than the general opinion out there.

What does Silsbee like to do? Power running game? Spread? Throw it all over the yard? What should I expect to see from the Tigers tonite?

Henderson will spread you out to run the ball. Couple good backs and the QB will kill you if you dont contain him. Offensive line is solid but not great. QB throws a really good deep ball and will burn you if you start loading up to stop the run. Defense will give up some yards but not many points. Kicking game is excellent. 5 hours until game time.

We played you guys four years straight from '78 through '81 and went 3-0-1 against you. Those were early in Gene Walkoviak's 20-year tenure in Jasper and I don't think we've seen Henderson since.

Maybe we can get together in round 3. I would like a chance to change that to 3-1-1 :)
