  1. Looks like Cleveland is trying to update their facilities to match their growth. This was a must with them going 5A after next year. That field can't handle any water.
  2. Cleveland goes 4-1 non-district & 3-2 in district. 7-4
  3. I've heard of schools hiding kids in the Alternative School for years. Then when Livingston got caught, I just assumed that they were the ones that got caught for doing something that a lot of schools do. After reading this article it seems that they got punished for doing something that others have been caught doing. Pretty crazy that the UIL ruled that 2 schools doing the same thing were in compliance with policies.
  4. The best way to avoid getting injured is to specialize in your own sport because everyone knows you can't get hurt just playing your sport year round. (Sarcasm)
  5. Saw someone make a good point about moving the cutoff for 5A up to balance the two divisions. I wonder what teams in the area will possibly drop down if the cutoff goes up to 1200 or 1300?
  6. Not sure of the exact score but heard it was Cleveland by almost 30.
  7. So I'm a communist because I'm patriotic. I'm not black because I'm against kneeling for the anthem. I don't know history because I'm a Coach. Hmmm sure is a non racist, non stereotyping, non profiling group we have. I fully grasp and appreciate the 1st amendment. However, just because you have a right to protest doesn't mean I don't have a right to disagree with the type of protest you are doing. People say stupid stuff all the time but that's their right. You also said you've made progress with the local police department in regards to racial profiling after speaking with them. So were you only granted the right to speak with them because you had disrespected the flag? I'm also sad to see that you referring to the constitution as my constitution. And too that point that was written in 1787. It's been repealed for awhile. However the 1st amendment is still very much valid and you feel free to use that one in "my constitution". As to the the whole point of your protest I fully support the ideas they stand for I just simply disagree with the manner in which you choose to protest. If anything I see people turned away from your cause due to the kneeling. By the way I'm a history major that grade with a 3.4 GPA but I'm ignorant to history. Oh and a quick question, if I were black what difference would that make? Good luck getting a game. I mean that truly for the kids. I just really hope it's not in Texas. I'd hate for your protest to take away from the game.
  8. The point of going to war is not to receive better treatment whenever you come back. It's appreciated but not required nor expected. That should have been taught to you from the get go during basic. It's called selfless service. And that "damn flag" represents the best of our country. You're attaching the negativity of your experiences to an American symbol. What you should be teaching these young men is to create a better life for themselves and the community around them. There's a whole lot of " fools " like me deciding on whether or not to play your team. They also check these sites dumbass, so be careful of what you say.
  9. Not sure how you could have served and not be offended by that crap! Unless you were a POG and Fobbit. I served 2 tours in Iraq and have lost 7 buddies over there. That flag has been draped over some great men. That National Anthem represents the best of this country, not the worst. They are only kids and its the adults with influence over them to teach them what the true meaning of that song and flag hold. I understand kids wanting and deserving a game but I for one hope that none of our schools allow your team to use one of our games as a stage for this kind of statement.

  15. Really not sure how district will play out for anyone this season. Just happy that it's time for these games to start counting.
  16. This years Cleveland team seems much improved over last years team. I'm expecting them to hang in there with Bridge City. If it's close late in game don't sleep on them Indians. They almost ruined BC's homecoming last year.
  17. 51-0 Cleveland Typical Homecoming game. Good job Indians! Now get ready for district.

  19. Weird atmosphere at the game last night. Cleveland had no band or cheerleaders, no flag for the national anthem, and the crowd seemed smaller than usual. I know the game was put on last minute but felt kind of like a JV game. The performance on the field was fine it just was just a weird atmosphere. Despite all of that Cleveland gave a good effort and had their chances to win the game but came up short. Better luck next week Indians!
