Correct. As I posted earlier, the district in General is weak... To be the man you have to beat the man.... Nederland is currently the man.... All of the years of stats mean absolutely nothing. We all know who comes out on top of those numbers... It's about this year... I do not think there is much separation between the 2 teams. I do think Nederland has by far the best staff in the district.. And I do trust that they will have a excellent gameplay.. I can only hope that PNG has the same excellent gameplay and is able to adjust to whatever might be thrown at them... And I'm sure it will come down to whoever makes less mistakes.... Just a good hard fought game in the BEST rivalry in Texas.... Until then I will talk no trash against the Bulldogs. But if we can pull out a win for the first time in a long time.... I'm chuckling at Mr. Moselys comments throughout this post... I for one do not know how long you have been around this rivalry.. However going back 20 years is almost funny.. Let's just pick a couple of years.... Come on man..... YES in the last 20 Neumann has owned us... And unlike a few others I have a smart enough football IQ to realize how and why we lose. Last year, simply put, we couldn't adjust to a simple defense... Our fault, our loss.... A few years back Trevon Sonnier ran the wildcat to perfection.... Our loss..... The one in between we just got beat by a better team.. Nederland is well coached.. To me the best staff in the district... Bar none.... My amusement is in all of you guys that don't remember when Nederland was the laughing stock of the district year In year out.... Yes just ask your local heros... Maybe even your offensive coordinator.. He will surely remember. Records from past years mean absolutely Nothing to me... If you want to bring them up that's fine... I'm sure overall PNG will win out in every category... Makes for boring internet amusement. The facts are this... It's a great rivalry.... I've played in it, my son has played in it, and I hope my grandson plays in it. So as far as arrogance, trust me there is plenty of that on both sides... But as far as tradition..... That runs deep...... So please don't mistake one for the other.... Should you be proud of what Nederland has done in the last 20 years yes...... And I'll try not to mistake it for Arrogance......

All of this takes care of itself on Friday Nights. I was a board member for the STJFL for 3 years, ended in 07. Back then Lumberton won several senior Super Bowls.... Well guess what, those kids graduated last year, and Im sure Lumberton was not a dominating team in the district. The STJFL is setup to teach kids how to play football. What happens is that the rules that are in place get bent because of parents. Not the kids or the STJFL. Its the local leagues you should have issues with. If a team is LOADED, I assure you the STJFL didnt draft it. We played WOS every year and got our butts handed to us... We didnt like it, but I always told the kids, we are not going to be intimidated by WOS.... I didnt like it, but you know what it all worked itself out last year when PNG beat WOS. Nobody remembers what little Johnny did in Jr. League football. But everyone remembers what Johnny did on Friday night.  Now I agree that the board members might not be what your looking for, however, rules are rules, and I assure you the STJFL has the BEST rules of any local Jr. League around... If all the concern was on teaching kids how to play football vs wins and losses, guess what???? It would all take care of itself on Friday nights...........
