Yea because Navarro best hope is 3 yards and a cloud of dust and go for it on forth down but how long will that last if you're not scoring and wos is making the scoreboard look like a pinball machine u can't  be like liberty and try not to win but  just not try to get blewout   there is no tomorrow so u try to put the ball in the air it's going to be a pick 6, cureo made a lot of mistakes in that game against  them and Navarro had a 4th down catch that the WR bobbled all the way out of bounce and they gave him the catch anyway then on one of cureo drives the center snap the ball way over the qb head badly and I believe the game was tied at that point  is watching  the film saying we can't make those mistake or we might end up in the same boat

And Navarro converted six 4th down opportunities! That's kind of amazing, we can't allow that to happen. They actually only scored three offensive possessions and their longest run was 14 yards but Cuero just couldn't get them off the field. Add in the pick 6 and a kickoff return for a score and that was the difference.

  2. A couple of things:

I'm interested in seeing how Navarro will react being "under the lights" for the first time- playing in NRG against the defending champs, first trip to the state semifinal... We saw what happened the last 2 weeks when WO-S got off to a "slow" start, I'd hate to see what a fast start looks like. Don't want to get caught watching.

That being said, I don't think WO-S has ever cruised through this round. It's always a dogfight at this point, no matter the opponent.

Sinton's QB could throw it all over the field, Cuero's QB had maybe the best individual performance I've ever seen against a WO-S defense despite getting knocked out of the game (twice, I think). It may take another performance like that for Navarro.

How many Slot-T teams does WO-S have to beat to prove that they can stop it? Lol. Every time we face one, this topic is brought up as a threat. Maybe it was two years ago, but I think it's safe to say they've figured it out.

  3. Although I will say there are a few fans who go a little far with the "WO-S could win 5A" nonsense. While I'm appreciative that WO-S does still beat 5A teams regularly, I think some fans may be remembering the old 4A days, not recognizing that beating schools 3x our size isn't the norm. Anyway, I'll take another shot at the 4A D2 title over any of those hypothetical scenarios.

I read all that stuff to on Smoaky but I don't post. It's kinda like my Daddy can whip you Daddy crap. Now several guys on the Downlow I go back and forth with but it's all in fun because I have met them and actually friends with a couple. You guys and girls don't take anything I say to heart cause I'm certainly not over here to pee in anyone's Post Toasties!!!!

The Wos fans are some(not all) a little over the top.......but that's ok. You have built something to be proud of. Just remember.......all good things come to an end.......and I hope it's comes crashing down Dec. 16th. Not because I don't like WOS........ because I like my team better!!!!

Oh come on now, I seem to remember everyone (including here) proclaiming 2014 Gilmer to be God's gift to football. And they pretty much were! But, the consensus was basically that WOS shouldn't bother showing up for that game. So for 2016 WOS fans to be seen as over the top is pretty funny!

NO. They are not. No one is advocating for a free pass. We are discussing the publics overrections. That does not constitute a defense in any way.

This has run its course. Outta here.

And by the way, there are some earlier posts equating this act to contact occurring during sporting events (football, boxing, etc.), and while there is assumed risk involved when playing a sport, that is not the same as having someone purposely stomp on the back of your ankle. Pretending to not know the difference is giving this kid an excuse.

I I just expect the school board to use good sense.

That's putting a lot of faith in a group of elected officials, whether it be the federal government or the local school board. The only difference being that it's pretty easy to voice complaints directly to the WOCCISD.
