  1. MLB draft is tonight at 7pm... Hopefully the Astros draft Bregman from LSU at #2 and then Preston Tucker's little brother at #5. It would be pretty cool to have brothers roaming the outfield together in 3-5 years.
  2. Looks like they will only keep Josh Smith or Corey Brewer... I have a feeling Morey is going to try and find some perimeter help offensively based on 3 pt. % and defensive efficiency... I trust in what Morey has done and will do, after going to the WCF this year, anything besides a ring in the next 3-5 years will be considered a failure.
  3. Exciting time to be an Astros fan. I am working up on the Canadian border in Michigan and got the chance to go watch the game in Toronto yesterday and got to talking to some of the Blue Jays fans and even they were saying how the batting averages across the board and the lack of production we are getting from the SS position is a glaring weakness. Hopefully calling up Correa can give the team a spark and help get the team rolling again.
  4. Starting lineup for the Rockets the first time they played GS this season was Canaan, Harden, Ariza, Papanikolaou, and Black... Things have changed a lot over the course of the season and I think the Rockets can win this series. I'll take the Rockets in 7, Howard averaging 20 and 15, and Harden averaging over 30 per game in this series.
  5.   I don't think he has to cheat to win. In the AFC Championship game in which this all occured in the first half, the balls were inflated back to whatever psi level that is legal and the Pats still went out and obliterated the Colts in the 2nd half. Was it wrong? Yes. Was it the reason they won their championships? No.
  6. I totally agree with the punishments handed down on the organization and wouldn't have minded them being more severe, and before I say this, I am not a Patriots or Tom Brady fan, but how can a guy be suspended without evidence of wrongdoing. I may have missed something, but all I heard was that he "more likely than not" knew about and/or put together the scheme to have the balls tampered with. I am glad he got suspended and think that he definitely is guilty, but without proof I am very surprised they came at him.
  7. The Champions Tour will be in The Woodlands for the Insperity Invitational this week/weekend. Admission is free and it is a blast to go see the legends still hit the ball around pretty well!
  8. This guy is a loose cannon, bush league, and a habitual offender of rules in his profession. I hope he gets suspended for the rest of the playoffs for that hammer fist to Crowder yesterday. He can say he didn't mean to do it but anyone who has seen the video knows otherwise.
  9. Capela is going to have to step up and give some quality minutes if the Rockets are going to make a run in the playoffs. He is talented but it is raw talent at this point.
  10. Masters week is upon us. Personally, this is one of the greatest weeks of the year and arguably the greatest week in sports. I am pulling for Jordan Spieth to win his first major but the field is stacked.
  11.   Yep, when he is 5 over par after the front those back issues will start bothering him. His short game is horrible these days!
  12. I hope he keeps it together. After reading his book, it gave me some insight into his particular situation and I hope he stays the course and doesn't fall back into what he has worked hard to overcome. He has been fun to watch on the baseball field but I could care less about him as a baseball player at this point, what I care about is seeing him do the right thing and take care of himself and his family while inspiring and helping others.
  13. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it this year. I am working out of town but the first chance I get I will be going to as many games as possible, especially day games.
  14. Shawn Stefani from Baytown, also a Lamar alum., is playing some really good golf this year and fired a 66 in his opening round at the Shell Houston Open. Hopefully he continues to play well and gives himself a chance to win the SHO on Sunday so he will qualify for the Master's next week.
  15. That is correct. The number of games they must play in the minors to start the season off is usually different on a player to player basis but it is all about saving money for the team. The kid from the Cubs organization,  Bryant, is a perfect example of this.
  16. Cano, Pedroia, & Kinsler have stood the test of time and are still playing good ball. I love Altuve and the way he plays the game, but I will have to see a bit more added to his body of work before I put him in the top 3.
  17. Hope the kid is ok... He took a nasty lick
  18. Shields seemed to never find a rythym and MadBum continued to be dominant. I'm looking forward to game 2. I've always enjoyed watching Peavy pitch.
  19. I am not sure why but I just have a good feeling about this matchup... I think the defense will play much better after the terrible performance this past Saturday... Whether or not the Horns can get the win I don't know, but I do know Swoopes and the offensive line are improving by the game and they will come to play!
  20. I hope for a 7 game series but I will take the Royals in 6... They just seem like a team of destiny
  21. If Manziel warranted a #1 overall pick he wouldn't have fell as far as he did. Not picking Clowney would've been one of the biggest blunders of draft history. The Texans will most likely address the need for a QB in the upcoming draft. O'Brien brought up a great point in his press conference which was if you look at film, Fitz does well when he has a pocket to throw from. I for one trust in O'Brien to put the guys out there that gove the team the best shot at winning. They are 3-3 with some very close, tough losses while some people are acting gloom and doom. Sit back and enjoy the season or go jump on the Dallas bandwagon.
  22. Who you got tonight? I will take the Texans 27-24 due to the Colts being one dimensional having no running game, having serious offensive line issues, and struggling defensively... With that being said, Andrew Luck is a very good QB and the Colts have a good shot at winning the game but I just have a feeling that the Texans are going to come out swinging...
  23. Oregon lost Thursday, aTm lost earlier, bama just lost to ole miss, and tcu looks like they are about to beat ou... polls will be shaken up for sure!
