Well if anything Mcgrue should be well rested for this game. He's gonna need to be.
One thing that was almost immediately noticeable when watching Longview and Westfield were the size and physicality of these teams when compared to West Brook. Those boys were hitting each other like someone owed them money or slapped their mamas. It's gonna be like that when playing Westlake's defense this week.
If there's anything to be hopeful about, it's that Westlake comes from a weaker region than West Brook. I don't know if they've seen a QB like Elia or not. Hopefully the West Brook offense can light them up a few times.

I know that Katy Legacy is a fantastic stadium, but am I the only one who thinks the seating capacity might be a little small for this game?  Pulling for Brook to go all the way!!  Would like to see an all East Texas final!!

Congratulations to the West Brook Bruins, Class 6A, Division II, Region III Champions!  They will take on either Austin Westlake or San Antonio Brandeis in the State Semifinals next week!

Hopefully he can make it to the semifinals like his old buddies from Silsbee lol 

Why is McGrue not in the game?

Texas City and La Marque in 1997.  I believe Texas City was the district champ and La Marque slipped into the playoffs as the third place team.

I agree. To put Elia in the same company as Chip Ambres, James Brown, and Gerald Landry is sayong something. For McGrue to be mentioned along side Christine Michael, as one of the best RBs, is impressive. I hope this bunch defies the odds, and wins 3 more games.

And if West Brook shows up prepared, with a good game plan, with focused kids, then they absolutely are the better team, on paper. Crossing fingers that all plays out like they predict.
