  1. Well Lamar taking care of business so far 28-7 with less than 1 minute left in first half.
  2. Well not playing a bad game just need to capitalize when we have opportunity.
  3. Yeah Lamar never lead this game and at it was 67-48. with 7:36 to play. I wish the program all the luck in the world but I am still disappointed the way Tic Price was treated. As I posted below Tic is back in administration with the Southland Conference. I believe to be successful again Lamar will need to take a new approach to hiring the next head coach. 12-50 record since Alvin came on.
  4. Well I know it is just an exhibition game but took overtime to edge St. Thomas 71-70
  5. Astros hold on 5-4 incredible game. Now will the home field disadvantage continue?
  6. not a downer i am texting all my friends in case they aren't paying attention
  7. Agree Dak is a weak link on this team. You just hope he doesn't do something stupid. Missed the one TD when he overthrew TE and could have just lobbed and also had wide open receiver on other side of field. He is terrible at progressions. When Jets spread out their offense it made the defense look somewhat vulnerable. Even near the end of the game Diggs was beaten badly on one route but the Jets QB poor throw allowed the free safety to come over and make a pick.
  8. back to normalcy after a seemingly promising game last week.
  9. Chas should be an everyday player. He has excellent defense and is probably the most clutch hitter we have. Likewise, Yainer Diaz should be in the lineup daily. The weakest link in today's batting lineup is Jose Abreu. Our biggest overall problem right now seems to be starting pitching.
  10. Brown knocked out in the third inning. The defense is sleeping as well. Astros looking pathetic.
  11. Great outing by Valdez. He wants to show he is still ace of the staff. Encouraging that Brown and him both had good outings their last starts. Hopefully we can get Javier back to being his old self again.
  12. Yep I was Astro fan back in 1980 as well...or you can ask Roger Clemens in 2005. Astros lost 5 games he started 1-0 including three consecutive starts. More run support would definitely help and it lowers the pitching stress knowing= you don't have to be perfect. The thing I was looking at was the games from start of season to the middle of June our ERA was 3.3. In games since middle of June our ERA has ballooned to 4.84.
  13. Of course you know it is about trying to win now. We don't know if those prospects will pan out and if they do when they will pan out. Also, we don't know if Verlander will pitch well or not so it is just a roll of the dice.
  14. I think it's a good deal for all. When Verlander walked the Astros had three other starting pitchers they were counting on. Two were injured for the season (Garcia, McCullers) and a third Urquidy has been out and is returning soon. Having another quality starter should help all involved. They could go to a six man rotation so some of these pitchers would not have such dead arms. If it helps the other starters then the bullpen should not be taxed as much. Also, we would not have to shuffle these pitchers that are not major league quality up and down (Blanco, Bielak, and Dubin). So if it works out this way we should have all around healthier players and a better chance to get to the WS.
  15. Astros hang on to win 4-3. Only one game out of first now. Great pitching performance again by France. He's probably been our second best pitcher this season. Chas and Tucker continue to hit well. Tucker with a great catch for the final out of the game. Hearing we may get some of our injured players called up tomorrow.
  16. Nice win tonight. Still too many questionable lineup decisions by Dusty. Hopefully some of this chaos will end when we get our other starters healthy again.
  17. After nightmare loss last night, miracle win today. Not sure what to think of Astros right now. Pitching looks pretty worn even though Javier was a little better today than his last outings. Bullpen exhausted.
  18. I can't stand the national broadcasts either. I usually watch the video and listen to the Astros radio broadcast even though it is not in sync.
