This week's FCS Coaches poll has Lamar at #18 and Southeastern Louisiana at #22. SFA and UTRGV (this weekend's opponent) also received votes. The Stats Perform poll has Lamar #17 and SFA #25. Southeastern Louisiana also received votes in this poll.

Lamar made a field goal to tie it at 23-23. During the field goal attempt they called a leverage penalty on East Texas so Lamar took the points off the board. They had a first and goal at the 4 but I think only about 11 or 12 seconds remained. On first down they had an incomplete pass so it was 2nd and goal with 7 seconds left. So it was score on the next play or do the field goal attempt again. So they scored with 3 seconds left to take the 27-23 lead. Then on the kickoff they do all the lateral plays and Lamar picked up one of them and ran it in for the final 33-23 score. I listened to KLVI and also watched the stats scoreboard. They had different scores for a while to where even the Lamar announcers didn't know if they counted the last touchdown. Then they confirmed it was a score.

Yep after trailing 16-3 at half Lamar scores 30 points in the second half...20 of them in the 4th quarter and 13 in the last 3 seconds. Final 33-23. It was a rather sloppy game. I had a feeling we were going to lose but somehow pulled it out at the end.

I've been following all year. Happy to feel we have a chance to win almost every game against teams in the FCS. It looks like our "toughest" part of the schedule is in November but every game will be tough. Nicholls already had beaten UIW at home so even with their record they were no pushover. Go Cards!

Good to see Javier pitch well. Hope he can keep it up. Neris has not pitched well at all and now Hader in for tests with shoulder pain.

Yep I saw UTRGV and SELA on the bubble. HCU went through the tournament without a loss after the weekend they were bombed at Lamar with 2 10-run rule games. Interesting season though. It is kind of nice to have so many highly rated teams in our conference.

Lamar goes from leading 8-2 after 3 to trailing 9-8 in top of 9 to winning on a homerun in bottom of 9th 11-9. Lamar will likely finish #3, 4, or 5. 3 goes to the number two seed home while 4 and 5 will go to the number one seed home.
-
Now you talking like me. Lamar needs to quit sleepwalking through so many games.
-
Both teams add a FG and Lamar hangs on to win 22-16. I'm not sure what the pitching arrangements were today. Lamar has a 3 game home series with UTA this coming weekend.

Lamar leads Tarleton state 19-13 with 5 minutes left in 4th quarter....uh I mean top of 9th inning.
-
LU run rules UIW and wins 17-6 in 7 innings of series final. Next at Tarleton State for a Tuesday afternoon game.

Conference is #6 overall in RPI. Weakest teams are around 200 RPI with the majority of the teams sitting in the top 100. On the human polls, specifically NCBWA I saw UTRGV and Lamar had some votes but they are not in top 25. It would be truly nice if we could get two bids because winning the conference tournament will be super difficult this year.
-
Lamar wins Saturday game 8-4. Will go for sweep tomorrow. Need to win these games against the weaker opponents because the rest of the conference is very tough this year.

You actually have to pay money to enter the CBI tournament so other than the little bit of exposure you get maybe it is not financially practicable. -

I don't see Southland getting two if McNeese should lose but then again I don't see McNeese losing at home in the tournament. -

Schedule seems strange to me. Next Friday opens Southland play. Lots of gaps in conference play where we meet some of our old faves like Rice, Houston, and UTA. Also, Texas and A&M on the schedule this year. -
