  1. Orange field hosted the Bill Tennison Memorial Basketball Tournament.  During the East Chambers/Tatum game, 25 to 30 Orangefield basketball players and students sat  directly behind the East Chambers bench (first four rows) and screamed for Tatum.  I commend Orangefield in trying to drownd out the East Chambers coach.  Collectively, Orangefield spoke with one loud voice. Why didn't Orangefield sit behind the team they were  supporting?

Whatever the case, Orangefield lost  earlier in the day to East Chambers 56 to 34 knocking Orangefield out.

East Chambers would go on to the Championship game to play Tatum.  The game was close with a 5 lead changes in the 3rd period.   The game stayed within two points both ways through the first 4 minutes of the 4th period.

    FINAL SCORE     EAST CHAMBERS. 55

                                 Tatum                      63

  2. Buna was a feisty opponent worthy of more praise!  They fought with heart and delivered substantial blows!   Never take the cougars for granted or else you will pay the price and lose.  A methodical approach was taken by East Chambers taking just enough to get a first down and march down the field for touch downs.  The defense has a record that speaks with some authority and carries  a big enough stick to get the job done!  8 games played with 49 total points on the year scored against them or 6.1 points allowed per game.

  3. Hamshire-Fannett and Kountze both scored 13 points on East Chambers.  That is the most any team has scored on the EC defense.   38 points is the total number of points scored against the EC defense this year.  The total number of points scored this season against Buna defense is 199.

I don't anticipate that Buna will score more than 13 points.  Of course anything is possible on Friday night.  East Chambers Offense has scored a total of 307 points on the season.  Buna's Offense has scored a total of 198 points for this season.

My prediction is Buna 7 and East Chambers 42.

  4. LOL! You can't use that reasoning in football. Very comical though might I say. If that was the case we wouldn't have had that GCM upset against an undefeated Nederland team last year right? Well it will definitely be a good, close one but I think Central takes it. And yes THIS GAME DOES HAVE PLAYOFF IMPLICATIONS!

Central played 3 6A teams (Summer Creek, West Brook, and Memorial) in the pre-season.  Since they managed to survive as a 5A team, then I am inclined to believe they have gotten meaner and smarter.  Surely, they learned a few lessons that will help them battle with other 5A organizations!  They should be stronger and better equipped in the regular season.
