Well the leaves on the trees are done shaking and the verdict is in !!!!!

We don’t know who’s a finalist for the United job and the other job I’m not sure where it’s at.  it’s so underhanded around here they go around behind closed doors doing things it’s ridiculous this is why it’s hard to establish trust among those in BISD. I know he wants badly to be a head coach his first love is where he is at he loves those kids and has great relationships with a lot of them but if he can’t get it here then he has to do what he has to do. It’s a slap in the face if you ask me . Silsbee doesn’t sound bad but y’all like to run and gun, he coaches a lot of ways. Silsbee fan base might go crazy if he goes to spread game lolllllll

And your opinion is respected but let’s be real Elijah Parquet is what happened to WB a top 40 player in the state of Texas and a Division1 player signed to Colorado ,along with a 6’9  Clayton Carpenter who is highly recruited . And lost in the first round to a team that had to play a tiebreaker game to get in. Meanwhile Ozen advanced to the second round with much less talent and lost on a 3pt shot from 38 feet away . Let’s not forget Ozen beat WB and would’ve beat them again had they not lost 3 players to significant injury and they were up the majority of the game but couldn’t hang on. Boutte is the Greg Popavich of basketball it is what is HE’S GREAT his achievements are like  o other.,but some of y’all act like no one else can coach or the job is too big for them to get it done . How does anyone know without giving Paul or Thomas a chance . No one can win big without some type of talent ..

I get it they want the big name some of these guys making  decisions are company guys well dressed politicians they don’t want backlash from a fair weather community who barely supports anything anyways . A lot of ppl complain but the attendance for education as well as sports are low from the community.and it’s not everyone but it what it is . No disrespect to anyone but I’m tired of seeing the coaching carousel revolve around old coaches, you have quality young coaches who can get it done if they had the type of support some are giving to these old heads. But hey who am I just a guy on the outside looking in and if they choose wrongly some of these parents and kids are jumping ship. 

Is Coach Mike T a finalist for the United job?  Where is he a finalist for the other job?  He had a good game plan to beat us but Devon took over on the boards and Ozen couldn't hold the lead.  I was hoping that he would hang around another year if he doesn't get the United job and get the job at Silsbee when Coach Sig retires?  

Your opinion is respected...My opinion is the old coaching carousel coach that went (28-4 and 14-0) at Westbrook with must talent than United will have this season is desperately needed to build a solid foundation at this upstart program. I have no axe to grind with young coaches but I'd take my chances with an old proven coach to mold this new school into some very special. I was hoping the board of managers were on the same page to make this happen by whatever means...Success will cure most  "WOES" that may occur combining once rival schools.....jmo

Well it seems as if Coach Thomas isn’t sitting around with his hands under his arse he is in the final 4 finalist for another job. IMO they will drop the ball and let another young talented coach leave. Well BISD loss and whoever gets him their gain. 

Great season Ozen Panthers you guys fought hard to the end .Coaches you did a terrific job of preparing all of these guys to play this season 

Let me clarify my statement earlier  because you have some real clowns who will take it and run with it . The disrespect shown to Frank Paul & Micheal Thomas is ridiculous yes we know Boutte is a great coach but those guys bust their ass to make their respective programs better everyday. They love the game just as much as anybody for people to overlook them I mean thats fine because that’s their opinion but the grass ain’t always greener on the other and bigger ain’t always  better that’s all I’m saying.  

Many many good coaches who do not have a state title and never will.  Eric Spoelstra has  two  titles and a couple more finals appearances but certainly not lately.  Same for Rick Carlisle.  Regardless of how competent a coach is, he wont win if the "horses" are not there.  Doc Rivers didn't get much recognition until Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen joined Paul Pierce.

Coach Paul and Coach Thomas have done tremendous jobs this year.   I think the clarification was warranted.  I knew what you meant and we both know Coach Boutte is a great coach.  This area is blessed to have several.  But you’re right, some probably would have taken it as a slight on Boutte.

You said a mouthful.   I had the same concerns.  Hate to see it end for the seniors.  Some really good kids in that bunch.

For Humble being state ranked and 18-0 in district they weren't very impressive IMO.

Just FYI, I have never seen the kid play. My statement was directed at you but more because of observation due to every game you ask for his stat line and everybody gives you points scored and you leave it at that. You come across to me as a bitter parent who thinks their kid posses or posed more talent but doesn’t or didn’t get the same recognition and talk. I’m sure I’m completely wrong, but as a complete outsider and observer of this message board that is the feeling I get. I’m sure being he is a soph he is 15 or 16 years old, just let the kid ball out and be happy for him or any kid no matter where he/they end up at.

Your absolutely right
This generation of kids is very weak, but the reason they're like that is becaues of the parents. Parenting got bad and kids got worse. Think they're entitled to everything and don't have to work hard anymore for wat they want.

I understand some may think I’m too young or inexperienced but experience comes from learning and every coach has to go through it. I know all these kids and have great relationships with them and I myself played for one of the best coaches ever. My mentors like Coach Boutte, Coach Gamble have taught me a lot about life and basketball. Whom ever gets the job will have a hell of task at hand and if it is not me I JUST WANT WORK WITH THE KIDS in some capacity whether it be freshman,jv or whatever is asked.” 

I  agree with this a 100%. When Port Arthur schools  merged participation went down. I can't count the number of times I have been in the gym and seen 5 or six kids 6'5 or better on the court at the same time  in open gym. In rec league you have 6 teams and everyone of them has a big.  Then when the season comes 1 maybe 2 play for the school. My comment in the other post about hiring the wrong coach wasn't a dig at a particular coach or coaches it's was about knowing the community and seeing the lack of participation / support that came from the hire.
