Wasn't the coach from Lumberton offered the job? So why is there still talk about Dale? 

Wasn't there some issue about a brother in law being on the Board?  Anyone think this could have been a problem?  Maybe the brother in law didn't want to get off of the Board.

I've never been to Cushing and don't plan to but being an assistant at Lumberton sounds like a considerable upgrade over a HC in Cushing.  Cushing has about 500 people with an avg household income of $28K.  Lumberton has about 30,000 people (if you include all neighborhoods built just outside the city limits) and an avg household income of $45K.  Lumberton is recognized as one of the fastest growing cities in Texas.  Cushing, not so much.  And don't forget that Jehling was a finalist for the HC/AD job in Lumberton.  Had Babin not acccepted the job, Jehling would be the AD/HC of Lumberton.  Kudos to Babin for convincing him to come to Lumberton as an assistant.  It would have been nice to keep him for 2-3 years but we were lucky to have him as an assistant for 1.  Congrats to Jehling and HF.
 

Whatever the explanation for him leaving Cushing was, it apparently satisfied the HFISD folks.

saw that cameron has an oline job as well as a girls coaching position open. Looks like a good fit for both Coach Zs. Wish them well!

I saw a bunch of girls standing next to a banner on 124 the other day. Must have been the power lifters. My office is right by that intersection.

HF has been good at most of the girls sports the last 4 years. Soccer in the playoffs 4 straight years. Volleyball and Basketball have both been in the playoffs a few times. Track has won district as well as cross country. Powerlifting has had 3 girls go to state including Callie Saurage a 2 time champion. Also a lot more coaching stability on that side of the athletic program.

I've heard he could be headed to the Waco area.
 
Possibly Lorena or China Spring.

Maybe the board members and community members have hired private investigators and FBI detectives to find out which of the 2 finalists make kids run the most.  Or try to find out which yells the most.  Can't have a repeat of the last regime. 

Not sure where they are headed but whatever school gets them will be getting great coaches/role models. Same goes for the Harris's. 

They planned to leave this year to get closer to the Central Texas area. I believe they both went to A&M and are from Shiner, TX. She had said they were going to leave after this group of seniors graduated. Have a little one now and want to be closer to family

Anyone know where the OC that was at HF is going?  Pretty sure his wife was  a coach too. 

Dale has a relative on the board. Doesn't the board member need to recuse himself first, then hire? (I'm not familiar with all rules)

Nope he hasn't & Dnt plan to unless dale gets nomination. Could be more wks til this drama end. In meantime the ones who complained are happy & safe with no off season workouts

The job was posted with a pay range of $68000 to around $90000 depending on experience. I doubt anyone will come in at the top rate. Mid level was around $78000  for 2-5 years experience I believe. I can't find the listing anymore to verify again.
