  1. They had two timeouts, it was 2nd and 13 and clock was stopped because of illegal motion on the offense, so they had to get a first down to run clock out. To keep the ball out of #2's hands. I thought Lumberton coaches had the players where they needed to be at with the exception if the first qtr trick play. I just didn't think the Lumberton boys executed the plays well in the last 4 minutes if the game. I thought Lumberton has some good young talent just no depth at the positions. A lot of them playing both ways. Last year during the PNG series about 10 sophomores on varsity. That is the talent everybody is talking about. Those are the ones playing both ways this year as juniors.
  2. Lumberton had so many chances to win that game. The play before the fumble the clock stopped because of illegal motion on 2nd down making it 2nd and 13 with 44 seconds left. They had to to get the first down because of time outs left by HF. The fumble was not a pitch it was just a bad exchange between QB and RB. Even after turnover. HF first play was a pass that hit Lumberton Defender in chest. QB for HF made one hell of a run to score. Lumberton had ball with 21 seconds left. Threw a big gain screen play up the middle called time out. With 8 seconds left Lumberton threw a long pass for what appeared to be a completed pass, but it was dropped. Lumberton would have had the ball at about the 20 yard line with a second left. Lumberton also had a QB sack when winning 41-30 that appeared to cause a fumble but refs called the arm was going forward. Lumberton has to eliminate the small mistakes if they want to win. I was surprised Lumberton ran the ball as much as they did. I figured they would be airing the ball out.
  3. Umm, no I am a Lumberton Raider fan and I do not think it is clear. I think the PNG girls and coached got screwed. There should be a single elimination tournament between the three teams and may the best team win and go face Barbers Hill next week and whatever team would end up representing the district pulls a major upset!
  4. I would like to thank all 20 teams from all around the area for coming out and playing and supporting the Lumberton Little Dribblers Allstar Tournament. We had some very competitive games over the weekend. Bridge City Major Girls won the championship over Hardin Jefferson Major girls. Bridge City went 4-0 and plays a great full court pressure defense. Congrats to you guys for working hard.

  6. This is why I am surprise Colorado Buffalo, Colorado State Rams, Washington Huskies and Washington State Cougars did not have some of the top recruiting classes this past year. They should have one heck of a recruiting benefit that other colleges cant offer.

  7. Final Results
    1st - Port Neches
    2nd - Lumberton

    Megan Wilkinson - Lumberton
    1st in Triple Jump 30' 5"
    1st in Long Jump 14' 7"
    1st in 2400 meters - 9 minutes and 5 or 7 seconds
    1st 400 meters - 94 or 95 seconds
    1st in the 4x400.

I don't know that those are official distances or times but they are close.

This girl is a special athlete. She is one of the hardest working young ladies that I know! Great Job Kid!

Great Job to all the girls out there competing in that nasty cold weather!
  8. Thanks bdub. I only have two more major slots and two more junior slots left. I currently have 16 teams signed up from all over SETX. Should be a fun enjoyable environment.

This will be setup in the juniors and majors with two pools of four teams each. The first place and second place teams in each pool will play each other. Guaranteed 3 games, but if you finish 1st or 2nd in your pool you will get a 4th game.

  9. I know I am looking way ahead!

There are three teams left in Region 3 this year after last nights games. Montgomery, Friendswood, Georgetown and Houston Terry, out of these teams left Montgomery and Friendswood will be in 6A next year, Georgetown is moving to another region and Houston Terry will remain in Region 3 but will be losing their leading scorer and 6'1" center.

The teams that lost last night are Ozen, Goose Creek Memorial, Brenham and Tomball. Ozen and GCM will be in 22-5A and are both young teams. Brenham will be solid again next year only losing two contibuting seniors, but have 5 returners including their leading scorer and I dont know anything about Tomball except that they have 9 girls on the roster and 5 of them are Seniors.

Then 22-5A still has Lumberton and Central as well, which are both young teams as well.

Region 3 will still have Barbers Hill as well which we all know is a strong program and is young as well.

Looking forward to next year in this area, should be fun.

  10. College coaches might observe a few HS games, but just like all other sports, the college coaches are more worried about their own season. Who wants to recruit a HS tournament and watch maybe 5 girls, when they can go watch a select tournament and see teams full of potential recruits. Alexis has been going to college camps playing against HS players and dominating them. Then when a coach looks at education and sees a high GPA from a private school and knows they will not have to worry about academic issues even a bigger plus! If she played at Ozen this past year how many Div 1 recruits would she have faced? Not very many!
  11. What you guys said is what I am talking about. It's the hard work that you put in after practices and after games. It doesn't really matter where you play HS and what level of competition you face while in HS. As long as you put in the work on your own outside of HS you will get better. JRidge is working with the youth outside of any HS practice or select practice. These kids are the ones getting better. The ones in the driveway busting there rears while others are on there phones and hanging out at the mall. Who is everybody talking about today? #3 from Ozen, why? Because she is putting in the extra work. It's not because she is playing at Ozen.
