  1. Here are the rest:   Javier Edwards DT Kerry Walker LB Nick Bingham RB Bo Anderson LB Lumi Kaba K Kwamane Bowens WR Willie Williams OL Tyler Siudzinski RB   Great Class for the Bobcats, detailed link to come.
  2. Steven Edding DT 6'5' 290 , Jacob Rowland OL 6'4" 305, and Kregg Lemons OT 6'5" 275LB are all in
  3. Wow I can't keep up.....9 LOIs already in.   Justin Gamble WR 5'11" 170LB 4.58-40 Blake Peterson QB 6'3" 198LB LG WIlliams QB 5'10" 185LB Bryan London LB 6'2" 215LB Bralon Hutchinson ATH 5'10" 180LB Dustin McWhorter DE 6'4" 240LB Josh Uluchoa DE 6'3" 255LB
  4. First official LOI is Landon Beck of Early HS in Brownwood Texas.  He is a DE commit and stands at 6'3" and 245 pounds of manchild.
  5. DT Javier Edwards of Aldine Davis committed late Sunday night.  All he has to do is get his test scores up; otherwise he never sets foot on campus.  Right now the Rivals 3 star recruit sits at 6'3" 320lbs and runs a 4.91 40time.
  6. Johnny Durham of Aledo decommitted from the Bobcats Wednesday night and is now committed to Kansas State
  7. If it pans out, then smart move by Strong.  It makes sense to hire a successful coach from a winning football program.  HS Coaches will let him in the door and have easy access to recruits simply because of HS background as a Championship winning coach (tapping into that good ole boy network).  It's all about recruiting these days and these guys know how to approach the hs coaching staffs and hs recruits.     Chad Morris took a similar route by hiring Coach Mathis from Desoto.
  8. Austin Corbett committed to SMU last weekend and therefore will not be taking a visit to TXST.  His chances of being able to commit were slim to none anyways due to a number of LB's  committed to the Texas State squad.  Until yesterday, It was looking like Nick Bingham would be the only one taking an official but Javier Edwards just confirmed that he will indeed take his last official visit to San Marvelous.  This class is full but look for the coaches to make room for Edwards if he should have the grades and decide to commit.  DT's are hard to come by in the college football world and Javier would be a huge get for Texas State.    *He is considered a grade risk which is why he only has 4 P5 Offers; Kansas State, NC State, Iowa State, and Mississippi State.  It is currently down to Kansas State, Iowa State, and Texas State.  If his standardized test scores are low, look for him to go JUCO route.

  10. Barring any decommitments looks like Texas State just took their last commitment of the year.  At #24 Butler CC receiver Kwamane Bowens committed on the spot during his official.  He choose Texas State over North Dakota State and other D2 offers.    Coming out of Salem, VA back in 2013, Bowens originally chose Hawaii over offers from Boston College, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt and East Carolina.   Appeared in 10 games as a cornerback, wide receiver, and kickoff returner…started the season on defense before switching to offense midway through…finished the year with seven total tackles, two catches for 35 yards and five kickoff returns for 55 yards…season-high five tackles against Fresno State (Sept. 28)…caught two passes for 35 yards at Navy (Nov. 9)…returned one kickoff for 30 yards at UNLV (Oct. 12)…named to the academic all-MW team.

  12. DEER Lots of rain and green grass but still saw plenty deer corning.  Took a Doe opening weekend of bow season. Shot 2 more doe in November.  Then finally took a 5.5 yr old 8 out of the gene pool late December.  3 Hogs by bow also a Javelina.  Have 4 good bucks pushing over 140 that we let walk on our 2nd year lease.  Potential is there just got to stay focus and get our buck average age up plus bring the doe population down to a 1:1 ratio.   DUCKS Teal season was lights out like always.  Didn't really hunt that much this year but when I did 1st split of regular duck season was good with bags of Pintail, teal, spoonies, and occasional greenheads.  2nd split slowed, most of the birds in the marsh by then and I hunt mostly rice fields   GEESE Haven't shot the first one.  Had opportunities but got greedy trying to let them make that last circle.  Expect to put some on the ground come February

  14. TxHoops, I think you need to do some research.  Adidas has open contracts with quite a few heavy hitters.  I wouldn't exactly call Wisconsin, Arizona State, UCLA, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Louisville, Kansas, and Indiana little sisters schools.   I agree GCM the apparel selection is terrible.
  15. Alright got a few more commitments, along with some JUCO LOI.  Last commitment reported was Kregg Lemons of Katy Taylor.  Since then we've had commitments from the following:   Willie Williams 6'3" 285lb OL from Pearland HS Javante O'Roy  6'1" 185lb DB from Palomar CC (SIGNED LOI) Jordan Mittie 6'3" 240lb LB from Naval Academy; formerly Aledo HS (SIGNED LOI) Lumi Kaba 6'2" 182lb K from Tyler JC Teron Fitzgerald 6'4" 227lb LB from Copiah-Lincoln CC (SIGNED LOI)     TE Chris French has also SIGNED his LOI.  Him along with O'Roy, Mittie, and Fitzgerald will be arriving on campus January 2015.  As it stands Texas State has maybe 1 more spot to fill for the 2015 Class.  Expect the main target to be a much needed DL.  Javier Edwards of Aldine Davis,Tyrell Thompson of Copperas Cove (Houston Commit), and Steven Eddings of Jones County JC in Mississippi to top that list.
  16. Sorry it is when you are a transitional team. And it matters to recruits too. Texas State is one of the fastest programs to do so; 2nd to only Marshall. Cougar High is in a conference with more guaranteed bowl tie-ins and with secondary tie ins. So an invite for a 6-6 AAC team is guaranteed invite, while a 7-5 or 8-4 bowl team in Sun Belt could very much sit it out.
  17. Disagree, only in Year 3 of FBS and we've already made bowl eligibility 2 years in a row.  Southland is a dead end and the ceiling is still high for Texas State in the FBS.  We were a master of our own destiny and dropping close games to Illinois, South Alabama, and Georgia Southern were the root of the problem.    It's a shame we are the only program in the country with a winning record not bowling, but it is what it is.  A lot of that will be fixed in the future with more winning and growth through fan support
  18. Welp it's not looking good for Texas State.  Bowl invitations are expected to be handed out by Camellia Bowl to a 6-6 South Alabama Team and by GoDaddy Bowl to a 7-5 Arkansas State Team.  Louisiana will more than like claim the New Orleans Bowl.  That now leaves Texas State with hope for an at large invite to either the Cactus, Armed Forces, and HOD,  But in order for those odds to increase we need the best scenario happen where Oklahoma beats OSU and Temple Loses to Tulane.
  19. I saw this link on one of the fan sites.  Texas State finished the year 7-5 and now look to hopefully be invited to a bowl by December 7th.  [Hidden Content]   Possible Bowls: New Orleans GoDaddy Camellia Heart of Dallas Cactus Armed Forces Possible Opponents being thrown around: Northern Illinois Central Michigan Toledo Bowling Green Fresno State Houston Washington Stanford
  20. Haha doesn't mean shit if you are in a G5 conference.  In fact they've made it clear going forward G5 teams don't mean shit to college football anymore.   Look at Marshall, the poor bastards are 11-0 and didn't even make the Top 25 this week, it's very obvious P5 rules the new playoff system.
  21. Katy Taylor offensive lineman Kregg Lemons (6-5, 275) becomes the Bobcats 18th commitment in the 2015 class.  He picked up a Texas State offer earlier this month and Sunday he made it official by committing chosing Texas State over Air Force, New Mexico and Navy.
  22. Texas State is Bowl Eligible for the 2nd year in a row.  They're 6-5 heading to Saturday's final regular season game. Even if they finish 7-5 the Bobcats are looking to be left out of a bowl invite again.     Here are the highlights of Arkansas State Game [Hidden Content]
