Texas State has offered Coperas Cove LB Jaylen Waters. The 6'1" 230lb LB timed at a 4.58 was offered at Texas States Jr Day a few weekends back. As a Jr he logged 102 tackles, 13 TFL's, 4 sacks & 4 forced fumbles. Texas State is his first offer but he reports he has interest from Baylor as well. [Hidden Content]

With all that said is there anyone out there that has been watching any of these kids play?  I know very little about any of them.

Cody Casey 6'3" 245 LB from East Chambers will be attending tomorrow also.  He holds a new offer from TXST, as well as, Rice.  I think right now he is being recruited as a Defensive End for the 4-2-5 defense. Cody led the Buccaneers in tackles for 2012 and was named to the First Team Defense in District 10-2A

From what I see on the highlight reels we either need size & strength, or just more raw athleticism to get into the playoffs.  Not to mention a Coaching staff that can stick around at least 3-4 years, build momentum, and turn it around. The turnover of coaching staff's has also affected the educational aspect of the high school.  From what I hear we have some pretty horrible coaches teaching the kids courses they have no business teaching and that the HS Principal is a very nice guy, but a weak leader and a pushover.  But that is just local hearsay chatter to me.  In my experience it's best not to take it too seriously until you get involve and develop an opinion yourself, which is what I plan on doing as my children start to get older.

Add Cedric Gambrell, a Defensive End from Cleveland Highschool, to the list of confirmed. The 6'6" 235LBS Defensive End is a 2-star Rivals Rated Recruit who holds offers from Utah, TXST, UNT, and UTSA

Texas State Football will be hosting their last Football Camp of the Summer in San Marcos July 19th.  There is expected to be over 100 HS prospects in attendance, look for this to be a big recruiting day for the Bobcats. A recruiting website quoted Reed stating his top two are Texas State and Louisiana - Lafayette.  He wants to commit by the end of July.

QB Patrick Reed is taking two visits next month (ULL and La Tech) and its been rumored a decision could go down in late July. Both schools haven't offered.

6'3" 270LB  Guard Kanon Mackey from Silsbee It is being reported by Rivals that he committed to Texas State University.  Can anyone from Silsbee confirm?

Patrick Reed also holds an offer from Texas State.  He is being recruited by Running Backs/Tight Ends Coach Jeff Conway.
