  1. This should be a really good game.  Can't wait to see the outcome.
  2. Agreed.  Congratulations to Coach Sanders and the SILSBEE TIGERS on a great season.  I have tremendous respect for coaches and players who overcome adversity...play through the hard times...and show their mental toughness.  silsbee did this in 2009-10,  Life lessons taught by a good young coach and absorbed by a group of hungry players.  Staying the course and having confidence in your self and others on your team are lessons that will serve them all in the future.
  3. RIZON Nice post.  Both coaches did a nice job.  Coach Davis having to follow a legend and keep the tradition that is HJ basketball was a tough chore.  And coaching a young squad was equally difficult.  She did a tremendous job. Coach Sanders coming in a rebuilding from the ground up is also tough.  Getting the players to buy into YOUR system and your style and personality is a tough job.  I was impressed when we played them.  I knew they would eventually be fine. Lets not forget about the job Coach Jost did at Orangefield.  He . too, lost some key players off of last years team and is coaching a VERY young group.  I got to see them play a few weeks back and was very impressed. There are some very good coaches in the Golden Triangle.  And some of the best coaching jobs done this year are from teams that did not make the playoffs.
  4. Madisonville is VERY good.  Played great defense...Navasota hit only 21% from the field.  The Mustangs looked like a team on a MISSION .  Just that LOOK inthe EYES!!!!  For some reason...Navasota was flat...physically...and emotionally.  Better get things together quickly.  Playoff time!!!
  5. MADISONVILLE travelled to Navasota and HAMMERED the RATTLERS  56-35
  6. DISTRICT 24-AAA  Standings Madisonville  10-1 Rudder          10-2 Navasota      9-2 Rudder is done...have an open date Tuesday Madisonville @ Navasota
  7. District 24-AAA Bryan Rudder  66 Madisonville    65    OT Caldwell  57 Taylor    55  3OT Navasota  74 Cameron  21
  8. NAVASOTA  82 TAYLOR      35 SILSBEE  41 WOS        40
  9. From District 24-AAA Bryan Rudder  82 Taylor            21 Navasota  70 Rockdale    7
  10. From District 24-AAA Bryan Rudder  64 Rockdale        24 Navasota  72 Caldwell    16
  11. District 19 is pretty balanced as well.  LaVega beats Robinson...then Robinson beats Lorena.
  12. NAVASOTA will lose 8...that's 8!!!!    8 total!!!  Ouch!!!  I can feel the sting already!!
  13. I don't think Rudder is fading...just think Madisonville is that good.  They should be...they return 9 players from lst years team including all 5 starters that WON DISTRICT 24-AAA in 2008-09.  They are 5-0 in District and get Navasota at home this Friday!!!
  14. Coach Sanders has the girl's believing they can win.  We played them early in the season and they played VERY hard.  Now..they are playing hard and playing with confidence.  The District 21-AAA race should be a fun one to watch!!!
  15. I made the easy drive over to Beaumont from Houston on Sunday to catch the RICE game.  Cardinals looked very impressive.  They are fun to watch.  Larry Tidwell continues to work his magic.
  16. Ozen is usually good and OF was not afraid to load up and travel ALL the way to Houston and take on a state ranked Stafford team. Playing without some of their players,,,they played the Spartans very close...maybe should have won the game. Orangefield, as always, will be a factor in the playoffs.  Always has been....and probably always will be!!!
  17. This is should be a great game.  Haven't gotten to see Orangefield play this year...but know enough about their style of play--their intensity---how they prepare---how hard they play and how well coached they are......so...this should be a good one. STAFFORD handed Navasota their only loss of the season...way back on Nov. 9th--first game of the year.  39-38.  Rattlers had 32 turnovers shot 24 % from the field missing 21 shots in the paint and connected on only 10 of 24 from the line, Navasota beat Stafford in the Rattler Shoot Out Classic by 15 Dec. 3rd Stafford has a tremendous perimeter player in #11 Jones.  Can penetrate and finish or she can pull up and shoot over people.  Without a doubt..their best player.  #42 post player hangs out at the high post area.  Can shoot from up there if you leave her open.  She's soft,,,doesn't like contact..won't play physical.  Their other post player...however,,,does #32  A very hard worker. They will try to press some..1-2-1-1  and then drop back to man or a 3-2 zone.  They flood the perimeter.  High post will be open
  18. Thanks Bob!!!!  And yes...thank goodness...  Rudder is moving up to 4A!!!
  19. Me too!!!  The girl's REALLY surprised me tonight.  Their effort and intensity was as good as I have ever seen it.  A tremendous atmosphere. Big crowd. A few college coaches in attendance including Texas A and M coach Gary Blair.  Rudder is a talented and well coached team.  The Jan. 19th rematch will be a barnburner!!!
  20. Thursday results from the NAVASOTA CLASSIC STAFFORD  72      HEARNE          26 WALLER      35      CALDWELL      19 NAVASOTA  64      STAFFORD      52 HEARNE      45      BRAZOSPORT  27 SILSBEE      34      WALLER        33 NAVASOTA  79      BRAZOSPORT  10 SILSBEE      42      CALDWELL      23
  21. Bryan Rudder #1 in 3A.  They are the REAL deal.  Madisonville , in at #5 this week, is pretty good as well. District 24-AAA looks like District 21-AAA did a couple of years ago.  Region 3 has alot of really good teams.  The playoffs will be interesting to watch...to say the least.
  22. Congratulations to Coach Jason Sanders and the Silsbee team.
  23. Consol was without their 6-4 post player-A & M signee Karla Gilbert.  She is a difference maker.
