Did HJ’s big struggle against Clover?

Reminds me of a funny Hefner story. When he was a freshman, he showed up at his first Houston Defenders workout/tryout obviously having slept all the way to Houston. Had bedhead and looked all of 12 years old in the face. He jumped in the workouts and the kids were shooting elbow jumpers. Air balled the first one, second one was off the backboard to the side of the rim. The head coach, Aaron Harrison, looks at me and asks, “who the hell brought this kid?” My son tells Hayden, “give ‘em a 360.” Harrison says, “get out of here with that.” We clear the floor and he does. Then he tells him, “give ‘em the windmill.” And he does. Our first session that spring was going to be in NYC. Harrison looks at me and says, “we gotta get this kid. We’ll take him down to Rucker Park and make a fortune placing dunk bets!”
