It was
    Huffman
    New Caney
    Galena Park
    Smiley
    Forest Brook
    Barbers Hill
    Crosby
    CE King
man that was a brutal district.
Thats why we went 10-0 that year  ;D
but bh missed the playoffs the very next year in the same district.
Thats why we gave Price to HF ;) ;D
well if only 3 teams made the playoffs now like it was in 07 bh would have been left out of the playoffs. So would gage get the move to hf also.
Nope. Gage allowed a run-thru tunnel. He's set for life.

This is so dumb.  There will be so many schools cheating and students being "homeschooled" that will ruin sports for everyone.  Chester86, I understand that it would be good for small communities like yourself, but for the 3A + it is going to be people trying to play sports and not go to school.
You would be suprised by the number of student/athletes already engaging in this activity.

    The what if game:

What if there were a school that was on the border of lets say being 5a and they lacked 5 students and 6 homeschool kids play football. Does the homeschool kids count towards enrollment even though they don't attend that "school"?
I would think (more like hope) that the UIL would not "punish" the school in this scenerio by moving them to a small 5A.

I know when you have students enrolled at alternative school, those students count toward your UIL attendance numbers. It would be very difficult to include Homeschooled students in that count.
So what makes a 3a/4a borderline school from getting its kids to go home school during the week of snapshot for realignment purposes?
If your district wants to "cook" the numbers, they are already doing so. Allowing homeschooled students to participate in UIL events will not suddenly legislate morality.

    Cheaters cheat.

I hate to be a participant in the hi-jacking of a thread, but I have some questions. What is it that kids and parents could be missing that leads them to term a scholarship as a "Full Ride"? Baseball scholarships are year to year, and the fees that may be covered in part or whole would be: Tuition, books, all misc fees, meals, & housing. Did I miss something? Is there something else that would need to be covered. I know that if a kid is close to home, he may choose to not live on campus, therefore there would be no housing allowance, but, possibly a stipend to equate to that amount. An expert I am NOT, somebody please clarify.
The TOP D-1 baseball scholarship covers about 70% of the total costs (tuition, books, housing). They do not pay for lab fees or things of that nature. Most do not provide for meals. They may still provide for housing even if you stay off campus after your freshman year.

Most baseball players off-set the 30% with academic scholarships depending if they qualify.

Based on those numbers, a "scholarship" to Rice, TCU, Baylor or any other private university is still very expensive when you compare tuition dollars.

Either way, if any part of your education is being paid for, you're doing pretty good.

    I see it as
    1.Barbers Hill
    2.Nederland
    3.Lumberton
    4.West Brook
    5.Bridge City

No offense to GCM just haven't heard much about them. Ive seen them play once this year for like 2 innings waiting for another game to start and didn't look to impressive
I thought GCM would be "down" this year. New coach, not enough pitching, etc..

Boy, was I wrong. Coach Thames has done an outstanding job and they seem to have embraced the "team" mentality. Cooper and Silva have been lights out from the mound. Hope they continue their success.

My nephew plays for Lee and why he didn't jump ship to GCM is a mystery to me. I think Lee lost two to GCM when the school went in to unsatisfactory status, they just don't have much to compete with this year.
I kind of thought it would have been more too. The entire athletic department is struggling. Could be the first time that no team from Lee, at any sport, advances to the playoffs.
