I am at a loss BG.  I am not trying to take anything away from the other schools in the district with this comment but, I don't buy it that other schools have better a pool of athletes.  There are athletes in Baytown.  For whatever reason, they get to high school and start getting left behind by the likes of PAM, NS, LP, WB, etc.  The only thing I can think of would be work ethic as being the difference. I know it is more than just having a good coach, but also the players and parents that have to make it a priority.  I heard a quote one time that said something like "the role of a coach is to get players to do what they don't want to do in order to become the player they've always dreamed of being."  I think it was Lombardi but am not sure.  We have some skill players but some think they just show up without putting in the time to train.  And how do you get the big boys out of the halls?  Maybe the moon and stars have to align just right for the right group of boys to come through that excels in spite of the poor work ethic or maybe it is finding "that" coach that is a lightning rod of change.
you partially right (in bold). there's athletes in Baytown, just not alot at RSS like other schools in 21-5A at the moment. DP doesnt have an abundance of athletes but they make up for it with their coaching staff.  ;)
Take Deer Park HS, divide it into 3 schools. Now let's see them make up for it with their coaching. Compare apple's to apple's.
 2.
What do you mean RSS doesn't have the numbers?  They are the 3rd largest school in the district.  I guess you mean they don't have the numbers participating?
Come to Sterling. Walk the halls. Show me the athletes. I am here every day. They are not here.
 3.
no, not saying that at all.  Excuses (like dirty butts) are easy come by.  It is hard enough to get the kids motivated.  Knowing the HC isn't going to be there is just another dirty butt excuse.  I, in know way know the answer.  But I do believe it is going to take the right coach or coach/system combination or even more accurate the right coach/system/class come together at the same time to get the culture changed.  It just seems to me that in 2 years, we went the wrong way.  If the HC is headed out, why not go ahead and start the process now? Maybe it has to do with contract term?  I really do not know.  Hell, maybe there is just so much apathy in the community that another year is just another year.
We just had a bond election in which 1,600 citizens of Baytown even voted (The bond passed). That's far less than 1% of the population! So, I would assume that there are even fewer Baytownians that are concerned with the RSS football program. As a former Ranger, I want RSS football to return to where it was in the 70's and early 80's. No matter who coaches the team, I just do not see that happening any time soon. It's a numbers game in 5A. RSS just does not have the numbers.
 4. So the reason Sterling is not winning is that the coach is planning on retiring and therefore is not interested in winning? Do you really believe that? If you compiled a list of reasons RSS is not winning, coaching is not on the list.

Gonna need a program for this one.
Looks like Georgetown wears the Camo uni's, so they won't be hard to find.... or will they ;D
Very clever.

Going with the HR hitting Eagles in this one.
Someone posted earlier that in the Georgetown win over PN-G, the Eagles "small-balled" the Indians the whole game.  Have they become power hitters since or was the poster mistaken? ???
I think the poster was refering to Georgetown small balling PNG to death.  The Eagles can't beat you with power so why small ball.... LOL
Since both teams are Eagles, he was referring to the BH HR hitting Eagles.
 9. Not much here, but it's something. [Hidden Content]

 14.
I don't know if this game will be played today or not, but weather.com is saying there's a 100 percent chance of rain in New Caney today. Can't imagine that bodes well for it.
If it rained this morning, that's 100%.
 15.
Mengden is legit.  He has been great all year if only the Ags could hit when he pitches.
Ags beat #4 LSU 2-1 in a longgggggggggg, rain delayed game. Started on Thursday, finished on Friday.
 16. Well I think you're all great! I vote we just hug it out.
 17. If you expect to throw any pass over 5 yds, you better have a QB that can move or a line that can sustain a block. Right now, they have neither.
 18.
Yes it is Coach Grimes who was the RB coach last year.  He has these kids excited and working their butts off.  Let's hope the hard work continues through the summer.  Sounds like they will be much more balanced offensively.  They were able to put up decent rushing yards last year.  Hopefully now that they will be passing more that they will be able to extend drives and put up some points.
Unless Sterling improves at the QB and the O-line, it will not matter what offense they run. They have some pretty solid skill players. The flex bone is really better suited for them at the 5A level.  They just do not have the "beef" up front.
Yes they do
Who? 8)
Sophomore and 2 juniors can hit at it and above it
Hit it and quit it.
 20.
If your referring to me I certainly never said they were crappy, especially since I have kin in that line-up. They are far from being crappy or even average, theyre a talented team that should go far. I was just expressing my ONLY concern and that was it , noithing more to it. They've sure had a heck of a year and hopefully it will continue
Not calling anyone out. It's all good.
 21. This crappy pitching staff is something like 29-2. I guess they played a bunch of donkeys. Too much emphasis on MPH. 95 will get you paid, but 85 (with good location and good off speed) will get the job done every day. Just ask those 29 donkeys.
