1. There are no "full rides" in baseball. The elite pitchers gets 70% max. Some guys get 50% athletic and 50% academic. Depends on the school. It's also a sliding scale. 70% year one, 60% year two, etc..My son's freshman year at UH we paid nothing. His sophomore year, we paid for off campus housing. His last two years at Emporia State (FYTW), we paid for housing and books. Basically, his education was paid for, but not 100% by athletics. 2. If you're playing baseball, they are not going to allow you to be a "part time" student. They expect you to play baseball in the summer. Not go to classes. Football is a different animal. They want you on campus in the weight room and have much more scholarship money available. The can play the "part time" game.
