He’s shooting well but they are playing against a JV team, I’d take it with a grain of salt. He probably has 40 at halftime but he can do whatever he wants out there tonight with very little resistance.

Had to get McClure another open look at a 3 but he finally missed one. Padding those stats tonight 57-18 halftime.

Lumberton Coach is losing his mind calling a timeout just before the half to chew some kids out in a 57-18 game... He coaches them hard, I’ll give him that.

This is comical we can’t get the ball up the court and McClure is just having a nice little shoot around and layup drill. 39-6 after 1 qtr he probably has at least 30 of those points, if the coach doesn’t sit him he could get 100 by himself.

Yea he’s going off but it’s wide open shots and there’s nobody there to fight him on the boards. 29-4 mostly McClure

It’s not looking good, the Pirates have 8 available kids. 2 varsity players, starting center and two guard. The rest are getting their first varsity experience but we got our coach back. 😁

Vidor JV making the trip to Lumberton, this is going to be a bloodbath. They really should have rescheduled these games. If any other team has to shut down their basketball program be prepared to forfeit or play severely undermanned. I’m hearing only 2 Varsity players are available and we probably won’t have a coach. Great decision by the district.

It's a little too late but I just wanted you to know that it was almost goodbye for Vidors season. Thank God for believers, the Pirates get to keep rollin with the flow because I don't want to miss a thing.

Yea that’s got to be Harvey, Sr now crazy good shooter. I heard Yates is not what they were the past few seasons but idk I’m sure they are still more than a handful for anybody from around here.

Idk about that but they are undefeated to this point and I think they will win their district. Harvey seems like a pretty good player, the best individual baller in that district and would probably be the best in ours too. Is he a better talent than the Lumberton kid?

That’s the problem, the other district will be bringing HF, HH or HJ in the first round of the playoffs. Better get that first spot and try your luck with Livingston. That makes it all the more interesting this season, it’s a battle for 1st place and the rest go home early. Silsbee vs errbody imo, maybe Ltown has a chance if their stud plays balls out.

That’s disappointing, we needed that one... BC at home should have been a competitive game. I’m sure no one thinks Vidor can sniff the playoffs this year but I don’t think they will be such an easy out. I know the record is bad but look at the schedule, much tougher than everyone else except Silsbee. The 2 games they should have won they split but when you play HF, HJ then HH followed by Ned, EC, BH I don’t think anyone in this districts record would be good against that level of competition. I’ve watched all their games, sometimes they look dead and can’t shoot but when they show up ready to play I think they might surprise a team or two. They have managed to beat all of the Orange County teams the past few seasons. OF, BC, WOS and LCM have all lost to Vidor but those were predistrict games and now they count. I know these teams have a lot of the same players back but so do the Pirates and they are very familiar with them. A forfeit and a game without a full squad to start district might just be a crushing blow right off the bat. I sure hope a district favorite or top team doesn’t have to shut it down because I would expect them to have to forfeit district games as well in the interest of fairness. The district has set precedent here with this decision so early on, bad look in my opinion. Should have canceled the game with the option to reschedule if it mattered in the final standings.

Oh boy... I hope we have a full Varsity team, if we have to pull kids up it’s going to get ugly in a hurry but it’s better than a forfeit I guess. I’m hearing we had to forfeit the BC game which I think is BS if that’s true. Plenty of time in the season to make up the 1st district game for both teams.

Are they playing? Vidor had been shut down, don't know if they can put a team on the court. If they do it could certainly get ugly without a full team, missing starters or coaches.

Well I wasn’t going to say anything, not my place but I guess it’s news now. I wonder what this does to the boys season and the 2 district games before the break. I think BC and Ltown would have been competitive games. Hopefully they are canceled or rescheduled and not ruled a forfeit. If so that almost kills any chance they might have had to sneak into the playoffs, certainly makes things a lot more complicated. [Hidden Content]
