My question is this...

Lets say WO-S or any other school for that matter makes it to state in Volleyball this year. This will most certainly conflict with football games....So

Do you cancel the football game?...isnt it the same thing or are some sports less important than others

--4A doesn't even play on Friday nights in Volleyball at the State Tournament. 3A plays at like 1 PM.

--Football is king. So no you don't cancel a game or scrimmage even. Maybe move the day on game at best.

--Football plays a minimal number of games. Baseball plays and plays.

--It is only a round robin baseball tournament not a district contest or anything. People pull out of basketball tournaments all the time. Solution usually is to throw some poor JV team in the brackets. Sounds like a good chance for the Jasper JV and maybe one of the other schools JV to get in a high quality game.

Jasper hasn't been so dominate that they deserve to be much higher. Got to a few good teams outside of the Pineywoods too. Those are some good teams in that poll.

i dont think so...i seriously doubt that if Jasper was in the state tourney they would cancel all their baseball games and leave all the other teams hanging

School board, Superintendent and AD all would have a say in what should be done. It probably isn't even a Head Coaches decision in a case like this.

Busch is the minor leagues of Nascar. No different than sending a pitcher down to get some work. It is the nature of the business. Those Busch guys look a lot better beating a field that has some good Nextel Cup drivers in the field anyways.

Not if the 3A has one of the very best pitchers in the state.

Barber Hill has a host of gyms but none of them are really exception. The field house is a good one. Evadale is much more attractive IMO.

Shepherd can contend if some young players step up. When you graduate 25 seniors it is tough at this level. Another Hubbard coming at QB will help' date=' but the oline must gell quickly. Caddie was Newcomer in the old district....the stronger one as everyone says. He ran pretty dang good against the "big dogs." Clevelend only beat them 14-6, and they beat Splendora...so on any night, anything can happen.

Early season success if an important thing for the psyche of a team. Taking them to a tourney where you can try out all your pitchers and still get some W's is good. Taking them to a tourney where your batters can start the year off making good contact is great. Also, BH is all about records. Starting the year off undefeated is about all that town knows, and going to some big tourney and returning home 1-3 wouldn't sit well with the locals. They will step up the competition soon enough.

Are we going to have to navigate through 3 pages to get to the forums forever? I have accept the terms a few 100 times now and the introduction takes awhile to load on dial-up.

WOS is rolling though. The Stangs have the horse to run the court with the Tigers. If Silsbee truly uses 10-11 players along with their height it will be tough to beat them.

Early season you would figure the pitching of LCM would have ruled this tourney. HF obviously has some good arms.

Silsbee has the tradition to much your confidence. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see them make it to Austin. They will lose by 20 to Glenrose if they do.

Nothing wrong with being great...WO-S certainly has almost always been the best SE Texas had to offer. Grown men continously bragging about it on a message board is rather humorous.

BH has had streches were they were as good as any also and have championships to show for it. BH fans ripping on WO-S fans makes for good entertainment as well.
