  1. 5-4 wasn't close at all..1 vote against is all it took. Had to be an unanimous vote if favor of Dayton from new and old district just for them to be able to get the UIL to look at the situation..at least that is what I thought I read in a newspaper article when realignment first happened.

  2. i think Silsbee will go D1 if they get in the playoffs' date='....if not Jasper will.....

If niether Jasper or Silsbee make the playoffs, then WO-S goes D1....But i would say thats highly unlikely[/quote']

WO-S is the only school I would put money on to make it to the playoffs in that district. The other spots will be like birds (Hawks and Cardinals) being chased by cats (Tigers and Wildkats) who are being chased by a dog.

I'd say Silsbee and BC would get my nod at this point with the athletes they have returning. But Jasper and Kirbyville have both had good success last few years so it will be wide open. HJ lost a lot but could be the spoiler.

HF and Orangefield probably make the playoff in weaker sister districts, but in the house of pain in this district.

  3. If you are swinging at a pitch and the ball makes contact with you hands and it goes foul...The batter is out.

    Thats not a rule.

If you are swining at the pitch and it hits your hand it is possible it could be called a strike or a hit batter. It will depend on the umpire's knowledge of the rulebook and his determination of whether or not the pitch was a strike.

  4. ok we will see...take me up on the bet then :l

I wouldn't bet that any of the 6 who made the playoffs last year will for sure make it this coming up year. If I had to pick the one I am most confident about it would be WO-S then Bridge City. In my opinion Jasper, Silsbee and Kirbyville will fight it out for the 3rd spot. I think you give the early nod to Jasper on tradition.
