I love the rivalry...the BEST in Texas as far as I'm concerned! But what I love more, is watching the FINEST young men in TEXAS, on both teams, play with all their  HEARTS to our entertainment one time each year during MCM.  I graduated from Newton, so purple runs deep in my veins, and my first taste of a PNG game, when I heard the war drums, I was hooked. When my son was the Indian Spirit for PNG, he dated the girl who was BIG NED for Nederland. Those kids showed nothing but respect for each other, did several stints together, she in her BIG NED costume, my son in full headdress and regalia.  I say all this for a reason, I know it's all fun leading up to MCM, however, let's don't lose sight of these fine young people from Nederland and Port Neches-Groves, go out and entertain us on that special Friday night in Southeast Texas. Many of these kids read these posts. It's okay to disagree, but not become disagreeable with personal insults and attacks. Best of luck to Nederland. Best of luck to PNG. Again, I feel these are two of the BEST teams in the state of Texas!

I did say that I saw them getting better this year. What I didn't say was that they would beat Nederland. I won't even say that Nederland will beat PNG. In this game its all up in the air until the last second ticks off the clock. It will be a very exciting game without a doubt.

I think you need to worry more about getting your A** spanked by Central this week then worry about PNG!!

Gonna be hard to contain the speed of central. This combination of athletes and a coach scare the piss out of me. I can't make a prediction till I find out how healthy we are

Yep you were and then some. Central next. Central is good and probably the better team. They still have to play good on Friday to win.

Coach Faircloth is a stand up guy, but he'll hang 50+ on you and sleep just fine.

Well, you'll have little something to look forward to. PN-G isn't as athletic across the board like Central. But they make up for that in pinpoint execution of their plays. Their QB, throwingwise, is just as good if not better than our QB.

On defense, they are sound and disciplined. Those option plays that y'all gashed us on probably won't work on them. But their overall tackling may be a little lacking. I'm sure your #7 will not be tackled by the first PN-G defender.

Still gonna be bad, but their coach is a stand up guy and will not run the score up.

They could play in diapers and tank tops for all I care. Just win games and beat Nederland!

Faircloth stated this is a tribute to the 57 State Championship Team as they wore grey pants.

It will help  with the recruiting,  I mean game. lol.
However,I do like it.
I think NED should change back to our old uniforms, the new ones are hexed or something.  Wonder if they were routed through Port Neches and little medicine man did a # on them.

That is definitely a problem. The second half hangover is what killed us against WO-S. We need to do something about that.

I just went through the all-time game results listed on pngindians.com. The record for points scored in a single game by PN-G is 71, which came in a 71-0 victory over Nederland in 1947. If I recall correctly, Nederland accused us of wetting down the field after that game and refused to play us again for four years, which I believe is the only hiatus in the history of the rivalry.
 
I don't want to get ahead of myself and I certainly don't want to jinx anything (knock on wood), but after scoring 40 points in the first half, there is a distinct possibility that we may surpass that tonight.
