Maybe it was said, however, everyone knew PNG didn't have the offense and defense that Dayton has. Dayton is good, both sides of the ball. I feel even if LCM brings their "A" game, Dayton will come out with the "W". They're just that good.........expect them to go undefeated. LCM will just be another notch in thier pistol handle.

. The only change I would question is that of Dayton ranked behind Central, but, both teams are definitely the top two.. I've heard a lot of negativity about PNG and Nederland, the "Midcounty" teams. If you look at thier track records, they have the stats to back em up for being in district playoffs virtually every year. And, at this point, 3rd place is up for grabs....its anyone's guess. Who knows, Dayton and Central may have an off week, does this mean they are bad teams? I have read a lot of posts putting down the players, the teams, tradition, etc. We have to remember that we are ALL part of this district, each one of us make up the whole body, the district itself. LCM deserved the win Friday night and I congratulate you. Vidor, deserved the win in thier upset over Nederland. PNG and Nederland fans admit this. All this negativity and slander against our fellow teams in the district only hurts us as a competitive district. I know a lot of it is in jest, but there are players that read these post, the ones out there playing their hearts out every Friday night for our enjoyment. Instead of tearing each other down, lets try to build each other up so we can be the TOP district in the state. We're ALL in this together.

Seems like everyone is just giving the district title to Dayton. Admittedly, they are good, however, they have an uphill battle the rest of district play. Anything can happen at anytime in high school football.

This year not going to underestimate any team in our district...upsets all over the place. I know everyone predicting Dayton to win, however, Vidor has the potential to upset as we all know. Hope the same holds true this week....good luck Pirates!

I think it's gonna be a close game, however, given the fact that the game is being played at the Reservation, gonna give the edge to PNG. So much smack aimed at PNG and Nederland for both losing last night, and deservedly so. However, again I say, anything can happen at any time in a high school football game......what looks great is stats and on paper, doesn't necessary carry onto the playing field. Good luck to ALL the teams in our district. To me, this is the BEST district in Texas, no matter what others may say.

Congrats LCM on a great win! You guys came ready to play and derserved the win. I'll be very honest here, hopefully I won't get any arrows from my co-hearts, but its good to see LCM come together with a good team, you guys have been lacking for so long now. Good luck for the rest of the season.

PNG Caves the Bears PNG redefines the Bears "BOJO" into the Bears "BOBO" as they easily sent the Bears back to their caves with a 35-7 victory last night.

The only concern I have about playing at LCM is that the visitors stands there can NEVER accomodate ALL the PNG fans. Couple of years ago when my son was the Indian Spirit, we had to sit on the LCM side because the PNG fans overflowed the visitors stands. So, this year, I will definitely get there a lot earlier.......the "purple" wave will definitely dominate tomorrow night! "......oops, don't want someone to think I'm starting a new saying...i.e. "purple" wave....

You're right, it is still early in district play, however, watching PNG's defense on the field with their quickness and speed, it's going to be hard to stop them. Added to this, a very effective offense and you got a team that is in the hunt for district and running on all pistons. Not sure that PNG will win district (I hope so, of course) but from here on out through the rest of the season, each team we play will have a very difficult time coming away with a win. PNG is getting better and better with each coming week.

PNG will be too much for LCM this year.

I'll hold my opinion about Dayton until they play PNG, Central, and Nederland. PNG plays Dayton the last game of the season and they play them at The Reservation. Now, if PNG continues to roll as they are, then everything builds up to that last game....and believe me, MCM is big, but if its between Dayton and PNG for district, this will be one "heck" of a game.......all the injuns will be out, standing room only crowd. It's hard to come away with a win at the Reservation.......we'll be ready for 'em!

PNG - 35 LCM - 10

I think its way to early to really judge strength/weaknesses. 2nd half of the season seems to be when the teams really get hungry for district and give it their all on the playing field. I think upsets, likde Vidor beatin Nederland, only makes our teams stronger......gives the winning team a lot more motivation and the losing team to rethink and correct mistakes to make them stronger. I was glad to see Vidor pull off an upset....I think they have been "underrated" for way to long. Nederland, always has my respect, they can be explosive at any moment. Watching the PNG game last night, I was really impressed with our new QB and I know PNG has a lot of quickness and is definitely in the hunt for a district title this year. All in all............no matter what.......I think the BEST teams in Texas are right here in southeast Texas....in my eyes, we're always winners! Scalp 'em NDN's!

Tatum looked great tonite! Stepped in, and did the job. With more play time, this kid is gonna be a great QB! Has a good feel for the ball and stepped up to the task at hand. Had a 30 yard scoring pass, perfect spiral.....this kid gonna be a good one to watch!

I think this one will be a fight to the end, but, since it is being played at the Reservation with all the hype and fan support, PNG will come out on top. PNG-21 Ozen - 17
