  1. Woden has a really nice gym.
  2. what year? what happened? How long were they "not allowed to play UIL football?" o stealthninja, that never happened, you have a nobody running his mouth about something he knows NOTHING about, yes the calling was poor at this tourney, but in the end the better team won, now if we were to have a re-match would they win again, who know's, I believe its how these kids show up that day and want to play, Congrats to both teams!!!!!!!! Indian Fan, You may want to check into this because it did happen to Cleveland just not to the extreme that was stated. It was in the mid 80's and it was basketball not football. They were able to play UIL games but they did have some games played where no fans were allowed to enter the gym. During this time frame Cleveland had some very good teams. I do not remember the exact year but would say between 82 and 85. This resulted from a very bad fight where most of the blame was placed, and I guess proven to have been caused by the Cleveland supporters.
  3. Lake Travis 35 Longview 31 This will be a heck of a game.
  4. I happened to get to see the LT vs Kileen game. Lake Travis is very good. I will also say that they have more than just Gilbert. They had 3 turnovers in the first quarter and were still up 22-0 at the end of the quarter. Their O line is dominant and I mean really dominant. Number 70 the left tackle has also committed to UT. That kid can flat out play. He hustled on every play. Not only blocking at the line of scrimmage but had really good speed and was blocking downfield after some of the shorter passes. Number 4 was their best receiver, he had great hands and ran precise patterns. The defense was good but not great. They will give up a couple or three scores to FW. I will guess the FW game to end up around 56 to 21. Gilbert's backup at quarterback would start for most teams. He got a lot of playing time this year because they always got up big early. He is number 18 and is really fast. He will also throw a pass from a reverse after lining up as a receiver.
  5. This should be a heck of a 4A game. Both teams 12-0
  6. Dayton Angleton West Orange Stark Kirbyville Newton Dickinson La Porte Friendswood Brenham Navasota Rockdale New Waverly Mart China Springs Celina Pearland Maud Texas Oklahoma State Florida
  7. I also went and watched this game. I agree the officiating left alot to be desired. However on the inadvertant whistle most of the defense stopped. The whistle blew really early in the play. He may have gained 10 yards had the whistle not blown. Really it had no impact on the outcome of the game. New Waverly has some really good athletes and most only play on one side of the ball. Keeping them fresh. For 2A this is not all that common. I was impressed. #20 can flat out fly but also runs very tough. I am not one for talking down coaches so I will try to watch what I say, but their was a coach on the field who received a unsportsmanlike penalty. A little later their was an opposing player injured on that sideline, from my vantage point it appeared the coach actually stepped over him. I am not from either school, so I believe my opinion is unbiased but it looked to be in very poor taste.

  9. Kingwood Park will compete but Barbers Hill will still be the team to beat.
  10. Woodlands win the district but New Caney will make the playoffs.
  11. I'm going with Cleveland 30 to 26.
  12. I'm going with Livingston 33 to 28.
  13. I'll go with Splendora over Tarkington 20 to 6
  14. Guess Memorial forgot the secret, or someone let North Shore in on it.
  15. His son Mike was one of the best high school athletes I ever saw.
  16. Brenham should be the favorite but I think the Hornets win this one.
  17. I think this game is going to be close. I say it will be decided by 7 or less. I'm gonna go with Dayton because they are at home.
  18. First time I've had a chance to get online since last week. Cleveland flat whipped NC all over the field. Both sides of the ball. Yes the defense was on the field a long time but they couldn't stop Cleveland at all. The secondary got burned numerous times. Not going to point out any individual players but one of the safeties was terrible. I agree completely that NC has to get out of the spread. With the athletes they have their strength would be in the line. They need to try to play ball control and eat up as much clock as they can. Personally I didn't like the way Taylor ran the athletic program as the AD, but he was okay as a football coach. Coley had a good program and yes Dunn helped alot but he was able to adapt to his players strengths. Roberts doesn't seem to have control of the team, looks to me like the coordinators make all of the in game decisions.
  19. Splendora 19 Liberty 13
  20. I'll take Lufkin by 10.
  21. New Caney vs Jacksonville I believe it was 1999. Mixture of sleet and snow and a 30 mph north wind. Game was played at Baylor. Two now professional athletes were quarterbacks. Adam Dunn for New Caney and Josh McCown for Jacksonville. Also watched PNG in a playoff game a few years back at SFA in a down pour.
