  1. I also saw the Dickey kid play last year and the year before. He is a really good player. D1, Don't know yet, but he does have good football people in his family, this usually translates to a smarter than average quarterback. I can tell you he is quick and is really strong. Wish him the best of luck. You Hardin folks are in for a treat with his grandparents. They will be at all of his games. They are good people.
  2. Houston Power Gold and MC Elite Gold will both be contenders to qualify for Gold Nationals.
  3. So MC if we can't post the gibberish on your post we'll post it here. The young lady from your Shockers Gold team (Treadway) just missed hitting her second one in the same game. It hit the bottom of the fence. It was a nice shot. Enjoyed speaking with Big Cat and Trout for a few minutes between games. Good luck to you guys, hope you get all your players seen and signed.
  4. Good talking with you too. The PNG kid Harrington threw a very good game. I agree with you about 7lakes for next year. Their sophmore catcher was solid.
  5. If you are traveling from the Beaumont area.....I-10 west, to Beltway 8, take a right onto Beltway 8 heading North. Beltway 8 will lead you due North for awhile and then will have a 90 degree bend to the West. At this point you will pass Fall Creek neighborhood, Wilson Road, etc. At this point stay in the right lanes( As you near 59, left lanes will keep you on Beltway 8, right will lead you to 59). Take right onto 59 North. Travel North past 1960 and Kingwood. Exit Community Drive and go back over 59. Head south on feeder. You will see the facility on the right about a mile down. Also there are some signs showing the way to the stadium. Don Ford stadium. It is on the West side of 59. Eagle07 has it right. Their is road construction on both the highway and feeder. The sign for Community Drive is small and orange. Whoever posted something about Forest Colony drive needs to know it is the driveway into the school just before Forest Colony and just past Valley Ranch. It is located at the 6th grade campus 22784 Hwy 59 south.
  6. Too bad for you then that you didn't get New Caney. The New Caney field is big. Takes a good shot to leave the yard there in the power alleys and center.
  7. How far are they willing to travel for a once a week practice with a team?
  8. Me too. My final 4 are NC, TX, UCLA, Wisconsin.
  9. It's in New Caney and the other team scrimmaging with them is Aldine. I don't have exact times.
  10. The following was in the Nacogdoches Daily Sentinel today. By TYESHA BOUDREAUX The Daily Sentinel Tuesday, January 29, 2008 The proposed Bo Pilgrim Ballpark struck out at Tuesday's SFA board of regents meeting when university President Dr. Baker Pattillo recommended that the facility should not be completed because of a lack of funding for the project. "I recommend that this project should not go any further," Pattillo said, while addressing the board. The estimated cost to build the ballpark is about $14 million, and 25 percent of that — $3.5 million — should have been raised through private donations during the fundraising months, which kicked off in November 2006 and ended in December 2007. At of the end of 2007, about $1.94 million in gifts and pledges for the ballpark had been raised, which is about $1.56 million less than what was originally projected as the goal for the private donations. Pattillo said he consulted numerous individuals, including "people in Austin," and he did not believe that the project would be approved in Austin (by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board) because of the lack of "dedicated revenue." "The athletic director (Robert Hill) will notify the coach, players and parents." Pattillo said. People who donated money to the ballpark will also be contacted, thanked for supporting the ballpark and offered refunds, Pattillo said. "At the time (the ballpark was approved) everyone felt like it would be successful," Pattillo said. " ... perhaps some time in the future." He also said that "work will begin" to see what can be done to improve the fields that both the SFA baseball and softball teams currently use, which is the Nacogdoches City Complex on West Loop 224. Hill said he will also work with the city of Nacogdoches and a local baseball association to see what can be done to improve the current facility. "Obviously anytime you have an ambitious project that you want to happen and then it doesn't, there's some disappointment to that," Hill said. "What we had, what we collected and what our goal was, we couldn't close the gap." Before Pattillo made his recommendation, Terry Lehmann, a parent of an SFA baseball player, addresses the board during the public hearing segment of the meeting. She said one of the main reasons her son committed to play baseball at SFA was because he was told that a stadium would be built in two years. She also said that "false promises" were made to the baseball players to get them to commit to SFA. "You (regents) can make a big step in the right direction by approving the ballpark," Lehmann said. Lehmann said she met with Pattillo in November and that "he emphasized that he was not consulted before baseball was brought back (to the university in 2004)." "That was a strong impression on how he felt about baseball," Lehmann said. After hearing Pattillo's recommendation, Lehmann said, "it would have been nice if they would have chose to honor their commitments." "SFA's integrity is at stake here," Lehmann said.

  12. Capable, yes but they also have to catch a few breaks along the way. You never know when the injury bug will bite. And you can not turn the ball over in the playoffs, especially as you get closer to the title game.
  13. I think they do, and maybe even more than a month. For example Woden in 2A has a tradition of showing up in Tyler at the regional tournament.
  14. New Caney and LCM will match up at 3:00 Saturday in Barbers Hill.

  16. I got to go with the hill because they are at home. 21-14
  17. I really like both. But it's hard to beat a good duck hunt with the comradarie of a couple of buddies in the blind. The perfect day would be watching the sun come up from the duck blind, a couple of hours of fishing around noon and a evening sitting in the deer stand thinking about what a great day its been. Man, I'm gonna have to do that soon.
