Diboll is at 9-1 with their lone loss to top ten Franklin and Buna is at 8-2 with both losses to Woodville and East Chambers. They will meet in Jasper on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Diboll is the visitor. Let’s hear from the Buna folk.

Who is going to be the 3 seed in this district? Very likely that Diboll gets 3 seed in bidistrict
-
Let’s be honest, the district is pretty weak outside Diboll, Franklin, and Crockett. Franklins last 4 opponents have a combined record of 7-28. I’ll admit that Franklin had a tougher predistrict schedule (Lorena and Mart), but since then, been a cakewalk. Still perplexed on how Diboll fared vs Coldspring. This will be the toughest challenge for Diboll all season, and toughest game for Franklin since the Mart game.

There was one play that really changed the momentum before the end of the first half, Diboll had 3rd and however long and decided to throw the ball when McMillan had been having his way with the Crockett D, but it led to an interception and Crockett went on to score a couple TD right before the half. Not being critical of the coach, just an observation. Proud of the Diboll D. Secondary played well for the most part and dropped a few INTS. I don’t really think the secondary got burned much, feel like the Crockett QB was making incredible throws right on the money.

I agree about the schedule so far, not the strongest pre district. But I still wouldn’t be surprised to see Diboll undefeated going into the game vs Franklin week 9
-
I sure hate to hear that, so pretty reliable source you heard from?
-
Not sure, no word yet.

Herbert Gums is the one that is hurt and would’ve complemented the run game well but Diboll hasn’t missed a beat with McMillan.

Diboll defeated Cleveland 42-0 last night and Liberty beat Livingston 55-0. Common opponent is Cleveland which Liberty beat 7-0 week 2. I believe AggiesAreWe picked this game to attend
-
Diboll moves to 2-0 after defeating Huntington 55-0. Cleveland dropped a close one to Liberty 7-0. Cleveland’s had some good teams years ago but not sure how they’ve been in the last few.

55-0 final

I agree that Diboll had their way in the trenches. The physicality from last season remain with room for improvement still though. What might’ve been missed by some of the Cardinal fans was that Dibolls best player went out with an injury very early in the game, maybe Dibolls 2nd possession. He is such an impact player and hated to see him go out. Hope it’s nothing serious. I saw him go back in for one more play where he ran the ball to convert on 3rd down, but you could tell he was in pain. Thinking he should sit out next game to get as healthy as possible. Back to the game, BC offense couldn’t get much going, and I think it had lot to do with Dibolls D line controlling the line of scrimmage. I get that BC learning with new coach but Diboll really affected that part of the game.

Diboll up 21-0 8:16 left in 2nd

I sure hope that’s true, the offensive line lost a few to graduation but had some good guys coming in to fill those holes. It all start with the line!

So here we go, Diboll home opener will be vs the Bridge City Cardinals. I don’t know much about the Cardinals, any fans willing to provide some input? Diboll comes in with high expectations this season after a disappointing first round loss to Gilmer last year. They dropped down to 3A this season. They bring back a good core group of players and most notably their D-1 recruit, RB/LB/DE Herbert Gums. Diboll will feature a new QB that appears to have put in some good work this summer. Diboll will rely on the run much like last season but seems eager to develop a much needed passing game. They have some new faces at the WR position and oline. Overall, the ‘Jacks should be solid and should have some depth this season.

Anyone go to the scrimmage? How did both teams look? -
Haven’t heard much on Diboll wide outs, any stand outs there? What about a replacement for LB Monroy from last season? How is the defense going to look?

Herbert Gums 6’2 220 OLB/RB from Diboll

Glad we have him for a couple more years. The move down to 3a will be interesting. He will play a huge role next year. He shared the ball last year but with the feature back lost to graduation, it will be interesting to see what coach decides to do with him. Let him play both ways again? Personally, I see his future on the defensive side of the ball. He's just a sophomore and already 6'2. Watch out for Diboll. Got another RB that played well last year. -
How is Diboll looking this season?
-
Just wanted to report on Diboll's RB Ty Hamilton. So far has 18 rushing TD. 1245 yards rushing on 151 carries. All from Lufkin Daily News. Not sure of any receiving yards and TDs.
-
Do you have the complete game stats? Both teams
-
Something like that
-
I don't think Diboll will have over 300 yards rushing either but I feel like their line will open up enough lanes to break the century mark easily. Not a pass heavy time but the ground attack should be interesting to watch against a good newton D. Closer than ppl think

Good luck to the Tigers! Maybe a rematch down the road!
