I'm not comparing the acts on a basis of significance. I see a very clear difference in the severity of their actions. I'm making the comparison to show people like Colmesneil, who like to give all muslims credit for the terroristic acts of a microminority, that there are Christians who misuse the bible to their own personal ends, just like the terrorists misuse the Quran. Both groups are able to do so by taking scripture directly from their religious books. But that does not mean that the religions support their actions, or share their beliefs. Of course, some folks refuse to acknowledge this, because it's a lot more fun to hate all them dirty dog Muslims.

I'm not saying that the one is nearly as bad as the other, merely providing a very valid example of the Muslim hater's double standard that many will choose to allow to go over their head. And while I don't know just how many Christians support the KKK or WBC, I've been in SETX long enough to know that there are definitely plenty of good christians in this area (and I'm quite sure a few on this site) who are sympathetic to their causes.

this is as bad as the righty propaganda you normally post. when you read this, and it makes you mad because it's so crazy, well, just remember that most of the stuff you generally post is JUST AS CRAZY. you just agree with it.

Westboro Baptist Church calls themselves Christian... and they follow the Bible. does that help put things into context? Do the .01% of Christians who belong to or support Westboro represent Christianity as a whole? Should Christians be blamed for all actions of the KKK? They've always claimed a biblical background in their philosophy and teachings.

People will never understand the dangers that police officers face everyday. Any call can turn into something like this. The masses should be thanking them for their service rather than persecuting them for every mistake they make (real or perceived).

Take your own advice. Quit blaming a whole group of people for the acts of very few.

I already know this. The point being that someone who doesn't have a background or knowledge of Christianity could find hundreds of Bible verses that would on face value be as bad as the ones you guys like to quote out of the Quran. Since I've read explanations that state that these verses are taken out of context by radical muslims for political purposes (not unlike what many Christians do), and since it's safe to assume that the vast majority of Muslim haters simply google a couple of verses of the Quran without context, AND since there are millions of Muslims in the US who aren't going out performing terrorist acts because of what they're reading in the Quran, I feel like my point is likely quite valid.

Actually, I don't think either one is much of a threat in the general scheme of things. there's always the possibility of a nutter pulling off an attack, but it's incredibly rare, and they're rarely very effective. I take more of an issue with people who fail to understand how rarely these things actually occur, and how small of a portion of muslims in our country the radicals make up. It's not fair to blame them all for the actions of a few, no more than it is to blame all Christians for the anti-abortion nutters or Westboro Baptist Church.

most Christians don't like that analogy because they agree with the bombers' agenda. which doesn't mean it wasn't terrorism. there have been a LOT more terrorist attacks from Christians in the US than Muslims. but whatever you want to think

better yet, since you're such a torchbearer for the right to be ignorant and discriminative of all ways other than one's own, why don't you wear that sign outside of some mosques. that way you're almost guaranteed to get something to blame all muslims for.

When crazy Christians were bombing abortion clinics, I did not blame the abortion providers. That being said, if an abortion provider had a rally where he was hanging dead fetuses from sticks to antagonize the anti-abortion movement, I wouldn't be surprised or outraged if his clinic was the next one to be bombed.

again, she acted in a manner that was explicitly planned to elicit just this response. that WAS her purpose. She got the result she wanted. Sorry I'm not outraged. As I said before, if you want to go to Harlem or Detroit and walk around at night with a sign that says "I Hate N******", that's your right. But when someone inevitably shoots you, it's going to be hard for me to feel sorry for you, and I'm certainly not going to use that very predictable result to condemn the whole race for your death.
