  1. I would have to agree. Memorial is talented but the lack of discipline surfaces at times but the root cause is the lack of consistent correction from the authority figures. It bites us during intense moments .
  2. I concur, my coworkers and I was debating whether K. Jones Jr. could have started on varsity as a freshman with Dauphine and Kam at rb.
  3. Even if he lose some there is still a wealth of talent. There is not enough footballs for all the talent in P.A. so losing some is inevitable. Qb at Png RJ, Wr from Png Mczeal, Qb Nederland Leday, Rb Nederland Simmons are just a few from Port Arthur who would be robbed of playing time if they stayed at Memorial. Memorial is currently undefeated without them but would be a deep team with them.
  4. I wouldn't be so quick to give the coach the credit for the 2011 run. Whenever you have a surplus of talent to use it can mask your ineffiency as a coach whenever a spread offense is employed. Case in point, Qb- Singleton 1st team all state(Baylor ) Rb- Holmes-Arkansas Wr-Seales Oklahoma State ,Wr-Leday U of DE-Romar-Oklahoma ,Lemora-Washington State, Guard-Armstead-Baylor, ELANDON ROBERTS- U of H *Currently playing for the New England Patriots, Barnes -Texas Tech are just a few off the top of my head. Its very hard to defend a spread offense with a dual threat Qb that has legit rbs and wrs at his expense. Secondly I agree with the psyche it takes to buy in to his program. West Orange doesn't have as much talent as Port Arthur but they do possess a different mindset.
  5. With the talent Memorial consistently produce, would it be a stretch to say if Coach T was Memorial head coach that they would contend for a state championship yearly?
  6. The only realistic chance Vidor have is if Memorial try to get fancy and throw interceptions that keep Vidor close.
  7. That may be but the measuring stick for how good a team is based upon how far you go in the playoffs. When was the last time any school mentioned went 5 rounds deep into the playoffs?
  8. If P.A. Memorial had PN-G staff we could get to final 4 in state yearly!!
  9. This is a high school post not overall career. Maybe I should have phrased the question better. Its unfair for anyone thats still in high school to be compared on the high school level to someone on the Nfl level. Thats why I should have asked the best high school player and not just a general question. It left too much room for unbalanced comparison
  10. Do you remember that run Carl had to seal the victory? He ran about 100 yds on a 30 yd run!!
  11. I would have to insert Raymond Johnson and Carl Delahoussaye in it as well. Raymond was 205 in high school and ran a 10.5 in the hundred. Could run you over or by you. Carl was just as fast and was strong as an ox. He could have been a 1500 yard rusher at another school but they shared the load. Beat the then No. 7 team in the state that had Booth, Cappadonna, Marsh at PN-G.
  12. We are only comparing how good they were in high school. That's all. Not college or Nfl careers. It takes away from the framework of the question when we add on college and Nfl credentials.
  13. Roschonbigbro. I just noticed your user name. Where is JJ!? He used to box at the gym back in the day. That's how I met him, before he became a good receiver
  14. He is very close to being more rounded than Jamaal. Jamaal was a step quicker but I believe he has a better arsenal of moves and he has a lower center of gravity. Jamaal mostly outran people. Hines can be contained and still find a way of escaping. I still stay Jamaal right now but if Hines get a step faster I'll go with him. Burkins is still the best all around Ive seen.
  15. [Hidden Content]. Check out what he did against Northshore the eventual state champs
  16. Btw, West Orange wouldn't be able to stop Memorial if Keitha Jones Jr was playing Qb. He has all state talent but due to politics the kid has to wait until next year
  17. Nobody is saying what Memorial defense would do to West Orange offense. They haven't and wont face a team with Memorial team speed. Png offense only scored 1 td when the game was competitive. Those last two tds you seen an unagressive, nonchalant mentally relaxed defense because they knew the game was decided. The score was 33-14 with under 5 minutes left. They let off the gas folks. RJ stats were inflated from those drives.
  18. Right because you're not giving Memorial defense any props
  19. The same way Memorial defense practically held Png explosive offense to 7 points until under 5 minutes, they would do the same to West Orange. They haven't faced a rb like hines. Pump yall brakes
  20. From seeing both ShanDerrick and him play, I would say Hines is tougher to bring down. Both are elusive but Hines have the breakaway speed Shan didn't have. If he gain 20 pounds he'll be a Burkins clone.
