  1. Newton has a Freshman , Tamazia Brown #8   RB 6"1 180 .. On varsity since week 7 and another Freshman Cameron Adams #15  , CB.  But Brown two pics on D last week one return for a touchdown and  huge TD run. Brown scored on his first carry of his career on Varsity against CC . The kid is a player , he will be a 4 or 5 star by his junior year .. "A kid like this only comes around once a lifetime"

Newton rarely brings up a freshman , the last freshman to get moved up also wore number 8 Kevin Shorter in 2009.

  2. What's new in Newton ? They have a freshman rb (#8) that's unbelievable , there offense looks more dynamic every week . The defense is led by MLB Holmes who is a beast among boys, secondary and dline have a lot more depth now.  Only worry is Oline depth .

  3. It's there... look for the "Sub Varsity Playoff Schedule Info" thread.

Be warned, though.... It's mostly Eagle fans and bad spelling.

call them whatever you want they still led to NRG and the same payday your school would get if they could ever get out the first round .

  4. If Newton wins out , they should go at least 3 deep  into the playoffs and meet Franklin again. Garrison is still undefeated and plays Crockett this week. Garrison comes to Newton next week. If Newton wins out and I think they will, they will play the fourth place of dist.12 and the second round they would play the winner between the R9 and T10. Third round they should probably play Franklin.

If Newton does make it that far id love to see a Crockett Newton rematch in round 4 . Thats thinking to far ahead though .

  5. Not same exact plays they run alot more formations this year

Same plays different formations it not like there extremely changing the formation , going from a wing right to a slot right or sending one wide then tight ,  its not to much difference . Great Coach once said "You can know every play that Newton is running and still can't stop it"

scat scat trap , counter, veer pass and oh yea bootleg 657 . That sums it up 70-80% of the time ...

  6. yes,  I got some bad info on that one.  Im pretty sure about this one though.  Crockett has a secret weapon.  A kid that used to play at Newton and knows the offensive and defensive systems inside and out.  He will be able to call the plays out before Newton runs them.

Everyone knows what Newton runs its not a mystery , plus they have a new offense coordinator this year but it doesn't matter Newton still going to run the same exact plays.

  7. Newton has better D but it will come down to Crockett D . Newton O has promblems and if Crockett finds a way to keep the Newton D on the field and wear them out Crockett will win . If Newton offense shines and it's score for score Newton will win with the better D in the end . My prediction Crockett +14.

  9. Well you are just solidifying my point.  Newton does not have the talent this year to do that in that classification.  They lost to Orangefield and Bridge City....who may have an improved mind set but still have very similar teams/talent as always.  Newton normally runs away with both of those games.

your point makes no sense. Newton has 2 future fbs players , Loads of talent just not enough depth to play with the 4a teams this year .. Plus they are missing there head coach .

  10. Deweyville down the road from me. I try to keep tabs on all the teams in the area and up on all the gossip. See my red jersey on my avatar. ?

what are you talking about , Newton has no injuries .. No one got hurt last game .. Newton has played bad the last few games that all there is to it .. Plus they are missing there head coach which seems m to be the promblem . Don't try and make excuses saying where going to get killed cause of injuries .. Not one player that this guy mention is hurt .

  11. Actually, come May ours kids will be graduating and leaving for college while all of Newton's kids will be preparing for a promising future in the pulpwood industry.

In fact, I have it on good record that the reason Newton lost to BC is because somebody said that Bridge City would be a good test for Newton this fall, but all the Newton players heard was the word "TEST" and gave up

Go polish those 2A trophies, Eagle fan.

Most of our kids go to college to and we send 1 or 2 a year to Arkansas, Texas, Texas A&M, and of course many go to Mcneese to play football.

Idk if you ever heard of McNeese West but it's what McNeese calls Newton.  I can understand you ignorance since you obviously don't even know the pulp wood industry has long left these parts . We natural gas and oil men now . (Go insult some more kids intelligence shows your bridge city class we all know bridge city has )
