Good Job Cards!!!  Remember to stay focused, Orangefield next week!!!

Ouch!!  It is amazing to watch how the quality of play changes over time. Earlier in the year, I was thinking to myself that BC has better cut the errors if they planned to play for long in the district, much less in the playoffs.  They seemed to have found the answers they were seeking.  Good Job Cards!!

CalTech vs Occidental 4-15-11 Although CalTech lost 16-5, Nick Robertson had a good game for the Beavers!! "Robertson had a team best two hits on the afternoon while scoring a run and driving in another. Sexton had a hit while scoring two runs. Heavey's had two RBI's, a hit and a run scored to help aid in the Beavers offense." Go CalTech!!

The Cards are playing good baseball now compared to earlier in the season.  Lemoine looks to be doing a excellent job of pitching with 10 K's in the first 5 innings. Have to appreciate the webcast of the game for those who can not get out to watch the game!! Thanks guys!! The Tigers need to take a deep breath, clear their heads and get back to playing good baseball.  They did it earlier in the season and can do it again.

I think the Cats have the pitching and hitting to take a series with Jasper. It will be close, but Statum and Angelle can be a nasty pair to deal with over a weekend!!

Looks like we all were wrong.........or right...........Sowell to start the game for Jasper. Top of the 1st, Jasper leads 2-0

Wow!  PNG gets 5 runs in the top of the inning, flushes out the Friendswood pitcher and has a runner on 3rd. Go get 'em Indians!!!

I don't know who will start for Jasper in Game 2 (nor BC for sure!!) BC just needs to go up to the plate and keep the sticks hot.  Good things will happen for them!! In the defensive mode, I think they should be a step better with Matt back at SS in Game 2, but they have to remain grounded in playing error free baseball......which they were pretty close to doing Thurs.  Don't let things get you rattled.  BC fields a relatively young team and the older players are the role models for the young players.  Play solid defense and win the games with your bats!! Got to have a lot of respect for Coach Mixon, sometimes he brings a line up to start the game that can really confound or confuse you, but he has always known his players and puts what he thinks will work for Jasper on the field.  We may see Sowell start, Parker start, Bolton start......who knows!!  So my idea would be for BC to take the "it don't matter" attitude.......play their game and get the win!! But somewhere along the way, Sowell will be back. According to the broadcast last night, they said Bolton spent the majority of the season pitching for the JV team....maybe he has matured enough along the way as he pitched pretty well in the 4 innings of the game he was there.  BC scored some runs, but due to sloppy field play by Jasper which is kind of strange.

Who will Jasper bring to the mound for Saturday???

It looks like the big story will be errors, while both teams had some........Jasper had a bunch.  Actual number was BC 1, Jasper 4 errors That and the BC bats overcame their good lefty.......he only got in 3 innings, so we could see him again. Menard's HR was called at 400 feet by the announcers at KJAS. Congrats to Matt!!!.........well, both of them!!!
