I don’t see Ruffin or DE Campos. They were the injuries last week. -

That should put him right at 1000 yards for the season. -

Your stream is way ahead of mine. Texan Live is still on coin toss. I knew Simon was fast , but dang! Lol -
If Bailey and his receivers are on the same page like the last 2 games, not good enough. IMHO, if Bailey has time to throw, he's going to pick pretty much anyone apart this year. He's really playing lights out ball right now.

Surprised they want a broader audience to be exposed to such violence. Hopefully, they rate it R.

Crosby @ Friendswood - PO Seeding on the Line?

I'm looking at Anderson, Weiss, AMC, then a toss-up with Hendrickson & CS. Anderson already has wins over CS & AMC. -
Goose Creek Memorial (15) at Kingwood (42) - FINAL

Summer Creek does get King at home as well. That may make a little difference. But, I don't think SC's D is quite as good this year as it has been the last couple. Didn't they lose a bunch of D1 talent on D to graduation? The only team with a somewhat pulse SC has played so far is Shadow Creek, and that was 37-32. -

I like Kingwood. But, the safe bet is still to think they're the odd man out. They may have a slim chance against Atascocita as bad as the Eagles D is this year, and they almost took them down last year. But, I don't think Kingwood has quite as good a run game this year. They are very disciplined though, and have a chance to slow down Mack. They could sneak up on NS I guess. But, I think that's less likely than Atascocita. I don't see any way they compete with King this year. King has some studs, and may be the best team in 23-6A this year. I think King can take Summer Creek. But, that's going to be a tussle and a definite Game of the Week to me. To me, 23-6A is lining up: King, SC, NS, with Atascocita/Kingwood battling for the 4 seed. -
Usually don't start threads for other teams. But, I'm surprised this one isn't on here. This is a big game in 11-5A D1, and probably will decide PO seeding. DCTF has FWD as an 11 point favorite. But, I think it's going to be closer, and Crosby has a chance to pull an upset. The common opponent is Fort Bend Marshall, and Crosby actually played them closer than FWD. Crosby also had a pretty good non-district with their opponents going 9-1, so their record may be a little deceiving. I think this is a 3 point game one way or the other. Third seed may actually have closer travel with the way 12-5A is shaping up. Who wants it more?

What Week 6 game(s) will you be attending?

La Porte at Kingwood Park from my recliner on Texan Live. Since it’s a Thursday game, might make a run to Buffalo Wild Wings and bring back pregame. Thursdays are BOGO wings—no limit. -
I’m wondering how soon we’ll see the Frosh call-up (#17, Gonzalez) also on O, opposite Smith as WR? Make the opposing D have to guard two deep threats. First game Pass D was solid, and that leaping INT he had showed good hands. Don’t know his height. But, he looked over 6’ at least with speed. All this talented youth coming up & playing varsity already bodes well for the future. I’m thinking more teams are going to have to start moving talent up sooner, or they may go where they can play. I like what LP is doing. If they can play at varsity level and contribute, play ‘em.

Best stats I could find: Sean Simon Through 4 Games splitting carries with Ruffin: 918 yards 11 TD's 7.4 ypc La Porte's Opponents are a combined 12-5, with 3 of those losses coming to La Porte. All four opponents were PO teams in 2024, with 2 moving on to the 4th Round.
-
DCTF projection: LP +39 Not sure about that spread. But, we’ll see. LP did look more like they were rounding into form again. D was much improved as far as fundamentals, and penalties were down. Special Teams still allowed a TD return though. That’s 2 this year on KO’s. Still need to keep improving.

Rivals now has La Porte's Sean Simon as the #1 ranked recruit in Texas, the #2 ranked RB in the country, and the #15 overall recruit in the country C/O 2028.

They're getting things set after our game. Similar to last year. Many of the adjustments discussed were made. Berneathy treats pre-district as a learning period. Although, I know he'd also prefer winning the games vs losing them. I hope we keep playing each other--pending realignment issues--as the last game before district. It's a good, physical test where each team can learn a lot about their needs before the 'real season' starts. Even though it's physical, both teams play clean. So, unless it's just an accident, injuries aren't really a concern. Can't say that about every team.

I don't see Huntsville as being anywhere near the same level as PN-G. Indians in a relatively easy win at home.

La Porte makes their first road trip of the season to always tough Turner Stadium to take on the Panthers for a Thursday night matchup of 1-0 District foes. KP took care of the Kempner Cougars in Week 1 of District play, while La Porte downed Friendswood. KP is averaging 32.5 ppg on O, and giving up 26 ppg. They come into the contest with a record of 3-1, with wins over Montgomery, 6A Clear Lake, and Kempner, and a loss against Dayton. La Porte comes into the contest averaging almost 37 ppg, and giving up 29 ppg. They also come into the contest at 3-1, with wins over 6A Deer Park, 6A Kingwood, and Friendswood, and a loss against PN-G. Who takes this one? NOTE: I believe the game will be broadcast on Texan Live.

Week 1 District Scores: Kingwood Park 24 Kempner 3 Pasadena 6 Crosby 69 Friendswood 21 La Porte 57 New Caney Porter 10 Angleton 56 District Standings: Angleton (1-0) (4-0) Kingwood Park (1-0) (3-1) La Porte (1-0) (3-1) Crosby (1-0) (1-3) Kempner (0-1) (3-1) Friendswood (0-1) (2-2) New Caney Porter (0-1) (2-2) Pasadena (0-1) (1-3) Weekly Rundown: Thursday night, Kingwood Park ended Kempner's undefeated streak. Friday action saw Crosby dismantle the Eagles for their first win of the season. Crosby's previous opponents were a combined 9-1 before this week's contests. So, they had played a strong schedule of opponents. Angleton's opponents were a combined 3-9 before this week's action, and that may have played a part in the Wildcats getting off to a slow start against the Spartans. The score was 7-3 Angleton at the half. But, the Wildcats turned it on in the 2nd half, and exploded for a 49 point surge for the easy win. La Porte faced a tough Friendswood team, and started slow. La Porte led 21-14 at halftime with a Mustang KO return for a TD, and a TO that led to a short field and score for the Mustangs right before the half. The 2nd half--similar to Angleton--was all Bulldogs, with only the 2nd team giving up a late TD. The 2nd team La Porte O also punched in an impressive 80 yard drive for a score against the Mustang first team D. This Week's Key Game - Crosby @ Friendswood. Both teams are eyeing a PO spot, and this game could determine possible seeding with Kingwood Park watching the outcome.

Goose Creek Memorial (15) at Kingwood (42) - FINAL

Kingwood has a good club. Shame of it is, with King the way they are this year, Kingwood may be the odd man out, even though they could probably make PO’s in multiple other R3 districts.
