  1. My whole point is New Caney pays some of the higher salaries of head coaches in the entire Houston area. Neither offensive or defensive coordinator has to teach class. The facilities are top notch both at the stadium and at West Fork High School. There is nothing wrong with promoting form within, however when you’re getting coaches that have the resume of a guy like Cope and I’m sure they got several other good ones I can definitely understand going in a different direction. If you’re going to fund your programs that well and provide all those resources it’s your responsibility to hire the best coach, not hire someone out of loyalty because you feel like you have to do that. Not a shot at any of the Mcdouglads who are great football coaches and people.
  2. Dougald McDougald retired. His son had no head coaching experience to my knowledge. Really can’t compare his sons resume to Cope’s
  3. I’m an Onalaska guy at heart ( give us football), but as a New Caney ISD hire I like them conducting searches and bringing in guys with bigger resumes.
  4. …. Hmm that seems to happen a lot over there.
  5. Massive for HJ or HF whoever gets the d2 1 seed in 19 4A
  6. I’m not disputing anything you’re saying. But, 6 guys on the floor in a 3 point game not being called is massive. No dog in the fight for me.
  7. HJ did get a huge break in OT from refs. Had 6 on the floor with the ball in play and a tech wasn’t called.
  8. It’s not a done deal. New AD has made one hire and went and got the former Galveston Ball coach for New Caney High School, so not afraid to go out on the market and find someone.
  9. Something changed, Jim Holley was the AD and him and Dougald McDougald had a long history. Plunk the new AD does not have the same history. With that being said Chris McDougald could still get the job, but it’s not the foregone conclusion it was when Jim Holley was calling the shots.
  10. Dave Campbell has you guys essentially back in the same football district as 2 years ago.
  11. The number is almost certainly falling somewhere between 525 and 535 I would think. Would not be shocked if it hit 530 on the nose and Tarkington stayed up and Orangefield down. I am no expert at all just cobbling information from several different guys who do this every year and mashing it together to form my opinion. I would say Tarkington/OF were 50/50 at snapshot day with reported numbers, I’d go Tarkington 60/40, OF 62/38 at this point. Either way I’d expect we know tomorrow or Tuesday at the latest.
  12. No, they are 3A in these projections.
  13. How many districts are open in that area? Shepherd right?
  14. Fair point, I don’t think anyone is trying to do that. But this is a football page and the Bulldogs aren’t getting it done in football and several other sports
  15. Right or wrong, no one is keeping their AD job because of girls track and soccer success.
  16. Hardin is 2 below the cutoff from last time. I’d say it’s 50/50 at best that they go down
  17. Hasn’t Central won district the last two years, how can they be a sleeper?
  18. Wonder how many spreads in the state are bigger than that?
  19. Hardin, and my why is Chad Taylor is their coach.
  20. Really interesting opt up rumors going around out there.
