  1. KFDM Coop, Can you tell us more about Coah Quinn, his background, etc. Thanks!
  2. There is something special a persistence and dedication and it's evident you embodied both. I pray your retirement is as fruitful as your coaching career.
  3. If Woodville moves back to 3A, how would this affect district 21-3A?
  4. Jasper's Dominique Bailey (multiple threat), DJ Jackson 6-3 & Terrance Avant 6-7 and they expect strong contributions from: Malcolm Bronson, Kwame Spikes, Roderick Rhodes, Aaron Garrett, & John Sells and most of this year's JV squad.
  5. Student-athletes and their parents can change school zones together and the student can become eligilble to participate. Recruiting is not allowed. If a student changes districts and is not accompanied by his parents or a legal guardian, he is ineligible for one calendar year. I think one advantage to schools that are successful and are in areas that are growing, they tend to attract quality kids. Last year I believe a pretty good player from LCM moved to H-J and I believe he played on subvarsity.
  6. New coach will produce an instant winner! Top-notch coachand a class act. Dawgs back in contention in 2007. Word is out and the community is excited about tomorrow's announcement.
  7. I thinks most of us on this board feel they will be very much in contention and I think all of us stated the obvious, they're the STATE CHAMPS. However, we just feel other teams will be moving up a notch and the services of Ryan will be sorely missed and the Big Guy's size. Your going to miss a D-I player if not, he would be worthy of such accolades. I also commend the coaching staff because HJ had kids who understood and played their roles well and their fan support was outstanding. Best of luck to H-J but hoping the district will have a fantastic finish to it and a few suprises before realigment, I think there will be a few different school in it in 2008 - 2009.
  8. More info. on Todd's brother please. Where is he? What's his current title? What kind of guy is he?
  9. I am curious as to what your thinking is.
  10. Sunshine, Yes they did. But as many will find out, playing without Ryan for four games is one thing, playing without him for a season will be much different. As I said before, their still the CHAMPS and you have to respect that. I think all of us look forward to seeing what happens next year.
  11. My predictions have nothing to do with magic, but I have seen all freshmen, jv , and varsity teams and here is my rationale and by no means, do I pretend to be a basketball expect, just a basketball fan: Jasper:Solid JV team and have the atheletes that should their fundamental skills improve, they can play a similar attacking style of basketball like HJ, Kountze, and Silsbee. Also, I think jasper will have the most complete guard in the district in the Bailey kid. HJ - I thought the state tournament said a lot about the future. I thought Ryan played an outstading game and alone with #42 pulled them to victory. This team will not be the same without him and while I am not sold on the big kid, he was still big and his size will be hard to replace. I really RESPECT these kids and the HJ tradition, I just think there will be an adjustment period. However, they are still the Champs until someone knocks them off. Silsbee-Graduation takes them down a notch, tradition and athletes keep them in the hunt. Orangefield - I like what I saw in terms on development and thought the kids came a long way. WOS - I really couldn't figure this team out. I thought they had some talent but for some reason they never came together as a TEAM. Graduation will hurt them, but they will always have athletes.
  12. I think they will be down for a year, but still make the playoffs. Very talented freshmen team. I think they'll make a run in 2008 -2009 with the possibility of winning it all that year and the following year.
  13. I predict the teams will finish in the following order: Jasper HJ Silsbee Orangefield WOS Hamshire BC Kirbyville
  14. How will the district unfold? Who will make the playoffs?
  15. This will be a sound team next season. #42 was relly impressive and so was #3. I believe this staff will make it interesting. I do believe their ar teams in the district that will be a more formable challenge given the key players graduating from the top three teams. With that said, tradition and champions never die, I expect this team to be driven by the idea of winning it all without Ryan.
  16. I believe the shot clock will do little to improve the quality of play because most teams shoot the ball before 35 seconds expire. I ofen wonder why most kids rush things on offense, particualarly, when the speed game might favor their opponent. In a push supporting the shot clock, it would benefit those players like Ryan Donuhoe, who are getting ready for the next level, and isn't that what this is about, getting kids ready academically and athletically for the next level.
  17. While their athletes outplayed you, It was their style that beat yours. A relentless press defense versus three point shooting-you're tired down the stretch and will not have the legs to shoot the three point shot effectively, and your style of fundamental play (which was excellent to watch) is abondoned as those crisp passess in quarters 1-3 become floaters in quarter 4, translating into a game and style that played into your opponents hands. The three-point shot is game changing and should be utilized. However, I believe you can't play the same style of play late in the second and fourth quarters, you must rely more on attacking the rim and get opportuninties for layups and freethrows. With all said, I enjoyed this game. (THIS WAS A CARBON COPY OF WHAT HAPPENED WITH HJ VS WILLEY)
  18. Congratulations Kevin and the Wildcats. A class act and an outstanding coach. I hope you'll bring home the championship trophy. Also, kudos to his assistant Kalobe Isaacs. Keep it up WILDCATS!
  19. Coach Williams and his troops by 15 plus! I really respect what he's done with this group. Keep it up Coach Williams.
